I can see it now….

Parsons rests, then Philly and the 49’ers lose. We need one defensive stop on the last drive of the game to win and get the #1 seed, but our best player isn’t on the field and we don’t get it.

This board would crucify MM and call for his immediate firing.

Lol, you would have to leave Parsons in Dallas to pull of that feat. No way he could stand there and watch for 3 hours. This dude is a different animal

If the 49ers win the 1 seed and Philly falls to a WC would Dallas get a home game against Seattle as NFCE champ or would GB be the only possibility ?

The loss of Biadasz is tough (hopefully he can return and be effective), but the Cowboys have been on point with their roster planning for that unit.

Last I looked we didn't have a single backup interior olineman, and the guy we're playing at C is the guy they have refused to let compete even to backup C.

WHY? Because some talking heads said so? Because front runner fans say so? consecutive 12 win seasons means you keep your job as HC. Other wise you loose credibility as an owner. Who wants a job where 2

consecutive 12 win seasons gets you fired? Nobody not even the "Great Sean Payton" will take those odds.

We ain't loosin in the WC round anyway
Marty Schottenheimer got fired after a 14-2 season. I’m not saying MM would get fired if we lose in the wildcard round. I’m just saying it’s very possible.

Just an opinion regardless of whether we play Tampa Bay or Green Bay in the first round playoff game if we lose do you think we will stand pat with players and same coaches and try again next year or what do you think Jerry Jones might try to do in desperation move up in draft or make coaching changes ? just your gut feeling n sarcasim.

Yeah, you stick with the team that got you there.

Two consecutive years no less.

If McCarthy gets fired, that would mean Jerral is a dummy.

Problem is when dallas scores points the defense gives it right back! And when you play against Brady and Rodgers we also play the refs..yes take care of business but we know how the story goes.

If JJ makes any moves, they will be regressive, not progressive. You know like letting some of our best players go elsewhere like Pollard but keeping Zeke instead of trading him for picks. JJ is a buffoon and knows nothing about building a dynasty, but he's great at tearing them down w his wrecking ball. It's all a game to him - his own personal Madden game. The only thing he's ever been patient with was Garrett and that was the wrong decision. He's also a plunger, throwing big money on the table on bad bets (Zeke and some would argue Prescott as well,) especially on 2nd round broken down and injured draft "projects."
And he'll NEVER draft a 1st round QB to prep for the future because "we like our guys" and he refuses to admit defeat in his past decisions. He'll also keep KM who's lost his imagination. A great example of imagination was the Saints offense vs the Dirty Birds if you watched that game. The Birds had no answer for #7 and the rotating QB scheme which took advantage of each player's skillset. The Saints would've destroyed us too if they'd been playing us.

I don't know what he'll do in regard to coaches, but player acquisition remains the same. Fill holes through FA. Build through the draft. No moving up or trading picks on day one. Maybe move back a few if need be. That's what they do every year. What happens in the season does not have any impact.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Peters has been a great asset, able to fill in at LT, LG and RT. Farniok is back to practice and will hopefully only be needed as depth in the playoffs, but can play both G and C. Oh, how about that Tyler Smith pick in the draft? Season over after next week without that guy.

They have a number of PS guys who hopefully will not be called to duty.

I think Dallas plays Tampa. If Dak plays well they win and move on to Philly where they go in like they always do after a big win and stink it up and play lousy. Dak leads the team to 9 points and the defense gives up a 130 yards rushing and the Eagles score 19 points. And all the Dak lovers blame the defense but yet they only give up 19.

Good post. We seem to have a lot of pieces in place. I also think that our weaknesses will reveal themselves in the playoffs. I hope our staff and GM can draft/trade to upgrade where needed.
I've got news for you, our weaknesses have already been revealed.

First, we'll win and advance.

Second, Jerry's supposed to fire a coach that began his season without his starting QB for six games and his All Pro LT for 23 games that produced a 13-4 record?

MM stays.

just wait and see..no need to do this, been done already look at all those what If coaching changes..

its all fluid but IMHP no need for major changes b2b 12+ win season and playoff berths i mean how much change is needed?,

the changes that might happen could be coaches leaving for promotions and they will need to be replaced, players contracts up lie every season this isnt much different.

I as a gm owner would give MM another year regardless but Jerry not sure,,

that what most would do as it makes total sense but what if say DQ and KM leave for promotions , maybe Jerry just says why not a new staff? a lot of organic moving parts might happen that could start a domino effect,

I give him one more year and that it its NFCCG or bust,.

It all depends on how we lose. If #4 throws 3 pics and offense sputters, I think our OC is on the hook. If we score 40+ points in a loss and our D allows 500 yards our DC may be out the door. It would take a complete collapse on either side for this to happen. If both sides of the ball look unprepared with multiple penalties which we have seen before and MM has some bad situational moments, he could be on the hook. The one change you will not see is anything directly towards the jones family.

I'm in agreement HOWEVER I believe if we lose in the WC round Jerry want just immediately fire MM but what I feel 99% positive
about he will go sniffy around Paytons backyard and probably talk to New Orleans about what it would take exactly to get Payton.
If Jerry doesn't like what he hears from New Orleans he will just stay with MM and say they have their man but if he gets an
agreement from NO and Payton and the compensation meets what hes willing to give I could see Jerry thinking I'm 80 years old
we have a good roster and Payton would make the difference that very well could happen.
