No problem bro... I'm just trying to make sure we're on the same page.

I'm just looking at it as Seattle is a physical team and so is Dallas. The media said the Seahawks physicality took a toll on their opponents, so I just looked at that with Dallas to see if the same type thing had happened, and actually Dallas had two more opponents that lost the following week than Seattle had.

IOW, I'm not trying to say that Dallas is more physical than Seattle, although I think they may be... I just looked to see if the same phenomenon applied to Dallas and indeed it did.

Fair enough. Thanks. :)

I've been posting this weekly in threads for the past 5-6 weeks now.

I keep hearing the media talking about how teams lost after playing Seattle because the Seahawks are so physical. However, I never hear mention about how teams do after playing Dallas, so i looked it up.

San Francisco - Lost to Chicago

Tenn – Lost to Cincy

Rams – Lost to Philly
Saints - Beat Tampa

Texans - Lost to Steelers

Seattle - Lost to the Rams

Giants - Lost to the Colts

Commanders - Lost to Vikes

Arizona - Won against Rams

Jacksonville - Lost to Colts

Giants - Lost to Jacksonville

Philly - Lost to Seattle

Chicago - Lost to Saints

Philly - Lost to Washington

Indy - ?

So, out of every Dallas opponent (excluding Indy who hasn't played yet) only the Saints (who barely beat a terrible Tampa team) and Arizona have won their game following Dallas.

The other 12 out of 14 teams lost after playing Dallas.

What that means is up for interpretation. I just wanted to see what it was since they keep saying it about Seattle.

So, if people want to say Seattle opponents lost the following week from being worn out playing the Seahawks... then I'd think that to say the same thing about the Cowboys opponents would be fair.

Nothing Earth shattering, but interesting nonetheless. Really just an observation.

There's some truth to this imo. I know Philly has a terrible record after playing the Cowboys on a yearly basis.

I don't think that it is because we are so physical, but because we are Americas Team. Every team plays there best against us because they know America is watching. This year we have been able to take on all comers and beat them at their best. Although, I don't think we got to see the real Colts.

12/14 and 10/14 for Seattle is likely not a coincidence. It doesn't prove a causal relationship but it is highly suggestive and bares watching. Good pickup by the OP. Destroying or diminishing a team's confidence and beating them up does create problems at least for the next game. I think but don't know there is a direct proportional relationship. Very interesting. Thanks for posting

Here is the schedule for Seattle and how their games went after playing the Seahawks:

Green Bay – Beat NY Jets

San Diego – Beat Buffalo

Denver – Beat Arizona

Washington – Lost to Arizona

Dallas – Beat NY Giants

St. Louis – Lost to Kansas City

Carolina – Lost to New Orleans

Oakland – Lost to Denver

NY Giants – Lost to San Francisco

Kansas City – Lost to Oakland

Arizona – Lost to Atlanta

San Francisco – Lost to Oakland

Philly – Lost to Dallas

San Francisco – Lost to San Diego

Arizona - ?

So, 10 out of 14 teams lost the next game after playing Seattle. Actually two less than Dallas (12-14).

What they were saying on the Radio and TV is that the last 9 teams to play Seattle have lost the following week. It isn't 9 straight for Dallas but it is more overall on the season.

Again, for what it's worth.

the mediots do like to create drama....and, they shouldn't let facts like a two game difference get in the way of a good yarn
