we'll find out soon, if he can pass block sort of good as zeke, he offers some burst for a bigger back, i'd take him over zeke

Can’t see them moving Zeke after all of the courting and him being gone last year. I can see them cutting loose someone else.

I don’t believe so. He may be a veteran on the practice squad who gets a few call ups.

I like Royce and follow Oregon pretty closely. But I feel he is too much like Zeke to justify a spot on the 53.

But he is a great blocker and great special teamer. So he could sneak on with that 52nd or 53rd spot.
hopefully he gets a chance and doesn't get suspended by the league like rojo I mean never rmind

can't see it either as we KNOW he's going to get the first team reps with anything, him Dowdle then whomever

If the lines shapes up and gels together in camp I can absolutely see the. Being a hard power runnings team with Zeke, Rico. Say what you will about Zeke, but he’s an excellent power runner and he will deliver blows. He’s at that stage in his career where you’re not trying to preserve yourself, he’s going to lay some dudes out. If he can keep the chains moving to get the defense to commit he’s doing what we need.

He can keep the chains moving when needed, but does he do enough to keep a drive moving, I disagree and say NO!! The reason why he wasn't here last season is part of that reason. For certain situations yes I agree, bring him in let him run a bit, break, bring in some others! Red zone bring him in/ short yardage bring him in. I think it will get a bit obvious at times though.

He has played pretty good at times after coming out of college with a lot of hype. I was excited about him when drafted by Denver. Never really good enough to star and as a 28 year old journeyman hard to believe he is better than Rico.

I wasn’t a big fan of ROJO. I feel he is a better pure runner than Royce. But freeman is a tougher runner, better special teams (Jones didn’t play special teams) and is an elite blocker. All things Jones was average at

Every offseason we have stories like this. All the guys the Cowboys scraped off the discard heap are game changers. Then the season starts and they are nowhere to be found.

You are right.

But Freeman is a great special teamer and this could get Dowdle off of special teams

Former Oregon Duck running back Royce Freeman is earning major praise from the Dallas Cowboys for his rushing attack and ability to quickly adjust to the Cowboys. Coach Mike McCarthy is suggesting the real possibility of an immediate impact for the veteran.

FRISCO - Former Oregon Duck running back Royce Freeman is earning major praise from the Dallas Cowboys for his rushing attack and ability to quickly adjust to the Cowboys. Just a few weeks after signing a one-year contract in Dallas, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is suggesting the real possibility of an immediate impact for the veteran.

“Very impressed with him,” McCarthy said on Wednesday at Cowboys OTAs. “When you have the opportunity to play in a number of different systems, I’m very impressed with how quickly he picked up the language. Football comes pretty easy to him. It’s natural. You can see that protection. He has been an excellent addition.”

Is he not impressed with anyone? Everyone looks good, can doa few things...etc.

Zeke, Dowdle, Freeman, Leupke. I doubt they keep anymore. They will keep at least 2 on the PS if not 3. Deuce being one of them if the 3rd.

I know there are fans of Peat, as I want to see what he can do also. But until I see him in PS games, I will keep him 5th on the depth chart.
But will have him above Davis, who I also like.

Peat would be the favorite to replace Freeman.
I don't think Malik Davis gets enough credit. From what I have seen I think he has more upside than the other backs. That being said he is still in the doghouse and may never get out of it.

I'm always skeptical about articles written this time of the year. Many in the sports media will take a statement from a coach and overhype it to gain interest from the fans.

It sounds like he may be able to contribute and the coach is impressed with how quick Freeman can pick up the system and the plays. I don't see anything where the coach said he was the next Emmitt Smith.

In any case, I don't see them keeping both Freeman and Zeke. At this point, they seem to have similar skill sets.

YES I Agree , I can definitely see Dallas running the football right down teams throats with this new younger offensive line .Some growing pains may show up early but I expect this OL to gel and be just that , a power backs dream .And that is what Dallas has 4 power backs. We shall see, looking forward to the season as always.

I agree, and neither have the juice that they claimed they wanted to add to the team. That would be Vaughn or Peat.

I love all of the articles where head coaches around the league are saying how their guys stink.

Every year Cowboys fans fall for it. Stephen, the "Director of Player Personnel," does next to nothing to improve the actual personnel and every year the head coach (McCarthy, Garrett, you pick) tells you how excited they are about the players. what else are they going to say? Are there people out there who think McCarthy would say publicly that the FO let down the club by sitting out of free agency and only signing bargains?

"Best shape of our lives"

"playing for a championship this time"

"turning heads at OTAs and camp"

"Cowboys are interested in..."

"Expect big things from..."

"All-in"
Then:

> Moral victory
> We fought like warriors (but lost the game)
> Interested in trading… (never do)
> We like our guys
> We are getting closer (to the championship game)
