They had the same type praise about Mazi and we all know how that's turned out. Until a young player starts going heads up against real tacklers or defenders, I'm taking in all the praise with a grain of salt..............
Yeah this is just about his approach and mentally how quickly he grasps concepts. I don't think they are saying anymore. Physically and what kind of pop or burst he demonstrates will or will not be on display later.

Wasn't huge on the signing, but not because of the player. I just wanted an actual starting rb. I do feel like Freeman has beat us up once or twice, but anyone can for that matter.

Probably better than Zeke and no I’m not joking.
That fact that you're not joking says more about you than anything else. Freeman has not one but TWO seasons in the NFL where he averaged less than 3 yards per carry. Last year with the Rams their starter Kyren Williams averaged 5.0 ypc while Freeman got 4.1. He was thrown two passes last season.. He did manage to catch one.. Inside the opponents 10 yard line he had 9 carries for 7 yards and 1 TD. 1 for 9 down close? Caught one pass in 14 games. Averaged a yard less than the starter on a good team. There is no sane argument that this dude is better than Zeke. Zeke accomplished more on a MUCH worse team in 2023, under far more adverse circumstances. More TDs, more yards, more catches, better red zone success rate.. All without a QB, without a viable receiving threat and behind the worst line in the league.

FRISCO - Former Oregon Duck running back Royce Freeman is earning major praise from the Dallas Cowboys for his rushing attack and ability to quickly adjust to the Cowboys. Just a few weeks after signing a one-year contract in Dallas, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is suggesting the real possibility of an immediate impact for the veteran.

“Very impressed with him,” McCarthy said on Wednesday at Cowboys OTAs. “When you have the opportunity to play in a number of different systems, I’m very impressed with how quickly he picked up the language. Football comes pretty easy to him. It’s natural. You can see that protection. He has been an excellent addition.”

Depends on the o-line. If they can spring some actual holes..we'll be alright.

I'm actually looking for a lineman to be up the field a few yards looking for a hulk-smash ala O. Pace. Instead of getting pushed into the handoff.
If the OL can do that this year that will certainly be a big help. Hopefully our new OL help can do a better job than last years OL.
Go Beebe!!!

It's good to see Mike McCarthy taking an optimistic view of how one of our RBs is doing.
Perhaps Freeman, and an improved offensive line, could actually help our cause! :flagwave:
