You're speaking of Linehan, I presume...
Thought you didn't subscribe to ancient history? I guess it just depends on your narrative.

Since JG was OC to now with Linehan the offense was never consistent. They've done nothing.

Once again: The facts do NOT support your argument.

The facts don't support your statement. In Garrett's 6 years as OC, from 2008 - 2013, he had 6 top 13 ranked offenses, and 4 top 10 ranked offenses. By any reasonable standard, he was a successful OC.

2007 - 3rd
2008 - 13th
2009 - 2nd
2010 - 7th
2011 - 11th
2012 - 6th

Average ranking in those 6 years - 7th

Since 2013, when Garrett stopped calling the plays:

2013 - 16th (Callahan)
2014 - 7th (Linehan)
2015 - 22nd (Linehan)
2016 - 5th (Linehan)
2017 - 14th (LInehan)

Average ranking since Garrett gave up OC job - 13th. And 3 of those seasons ranked worse than ANY season Garrett was calling the plays.

Conclusion: Garrett was (and still could be) a top 10 OC.

You can’t just go by the rankings because the Cowboys had a lot of offensive talent including a franchise QB and a lot of OCs could’ve led the team to those rankings. Those rankings weren’t leading to much. The second highest offensive ranking the Cowboys had under Garrett as the OC was 3rd in 07 but the offense started to sputter out the final month of the season. The Cowboys went from averaging around 32 points a game to only around 14 points a game the final month of that season. We couldn’t get the passing game going in the playoffs in the loss to the Giants. When it came down to crunch time the final month of that season our offense wasn’t getting it done.

Our offense dropped to the 13th in 08 and Romo struggled the final month of the season with a number of turnovers. Our offense wasn’t getting it done in the critical December games that year resulting in us missing the playoffs. Although our offense ranked high in 09 we ended up getting blown out by the Vikings in the playoffs. Romo turned the ball over three times and we couldn’t get anything going offensively. In the 2010 opener Garrett called a pass play near the end of the first half which resulted in a scoop and score fumble for Washington which helped cost us that game. Garrett got persecuted after the game.

Wade ended up getting fired mid season and Garrett has to take some of the responsibility for that. In 2011 and 2012 we were going 8-8 with a franchise QB and the play calling was not good. You could see Romo getting into animated conversations with Garrett on the sidelines due to some of the playcalling. This all led to Garrett being stripped of his play calling duties.

We have our disagreements but this is a good summary. By the end of 2012, articles were numerous about Dallas successful plays were when The offense started going hurry-up after their strategies weren’t working, meaning game plans.

When all was said in done with Garret, we were bottom 5 in red zone scorzing, TOs and least amount of rushing attempts.

Passing yards obscured our numbers simply because teams played deep cover 2 and gave us what lies between the 20s only to stop us in the red zone. A lot of our points offensively were in reality FGs and scoring from behind. During the Garrett era, we were abysmal offensively between quarters 2 and 3 in particular. We couldn’t control TOP at all.

Have to say, Scandrick really impressed me in this interview. As I said before, if he's gone, I sincerely hope he plays well for his next team (as long as they aren't playing the Cowboys). He seems like a really good person :)

I've met him in person. He's an ***.

So true.

To clarify, in 08 Romo broke his hand. He was brought back in way too soon, and it resulted in him struggling. Very bad decision by this coaching staff, as his passes sailed on him for several years thereafter due to bad habits developed by trying to throw w/ a broken hand.

Oh, and Scandrick? He'll be 31 in FEB. Aside from just a very few, that's around the age that spells the end of most CB's career.
