I don't think Dallas shopping Scandrick means much more now than the team was comfortable with some combination of Carroll, Brown and Awusie being our top three corners. Despite not having as good of a season coming off injury, Scandrick is the top corner on this team IMO until proven otherwise. However, maybe the team doesn't feel the Scandrick of now is any better than what we've got. We'll see how that plays out.

Even if the trade rumor was true, I have a hard time believing a team would deal for OS. Especially after last year when he came back from injury.

Just call it what it is, he was a good enough slot corner who played on the outside part time and for a little bit, was the best DB on a team with the the worst DB group. OS has never been a ballhawk and I wouldn't consider him a play maker. His tackling ability is debateable.

This is how I feel about it. At the moment, the only real veteran presence we have besides him is Sean Lee. After that, it's pretty close to 25 and under, minus a few spare defensive lineman. And since the DB's meet separate from the DL and linebackers, Scandrick will be the only veteran in the meeting room, often times. Coaches need that presence to demonstrate how professional approach the game. I'm not necessarily sure if Scandrick fit's that description, but I do not recall any reports that would indicate he does not.

Gotta say I really don't agree, he had hammy issues last year, but I think he still has 2-3 years in the tank. He is exactly the type of player Dallas is hoping Awuzie Lewis and woods turn into (smart, swifty, physical hitter, with an attitude). why dump him, with all of these guys being unproven rookies? Chances are 1-2 of them are busts, why set yourself up.

If just hamstrings were the problem he should consult with Emmitt and his use of pantyhose to combat those soft tissue injuries. Gotta stretch
those muscles or they're gonna get pulled.

A couple of months ago, scandrick did a media tour and went on several espn shows. Hmmmmm. I believe this was an attempt to bolster his trade value.

Trading or cutting Scandrick now actually takes up an additional $881,021 in cap room. His 2017 cap hit is $5.28M; cutting him would accelerate his remaining prorated signing bonus and create a hit of $6.16M.

As a June 1st cut, he'd create $3M in cap room and still count approx. $3.8M on the 2018 cap.

If cut (or traded) next off-season, it would create about $1.4M in cap room.

Pantyhose - that explains the longevity of the Hogettes.

I knew this was coming, told this board and I told my girl when he started dating Draya. I'm not saying this is all her fault but she led to this downfall, her drama and karma spilled over into his life.

Scandrick was a shell of his former self last year. He looks and plays like a 30yr old player who
has been through 1 too many football wars. I, for one, will not be surprised if he does not make the
53 this year. He may take this as a challenge and get himself ready to play this year but, my warning
to him is get his shoulder chip ready for the wars of training camp this summer if he wants to get paid.
He did look bad last year, maybe he is better this year, I don't think he was really ready to play last year.

Probably because there's a very real possibility that our 3rd round pick already does his job better...

Scandrick's best attribute was always his ability to mirror and match WR's. If his legs aren't 100% and he's lost a step there's a good chance Lewis could be our best slot cover CB day 1.

I think make him post 1 june cut. according to over the cap, if dallas cut scandrick after 1 june they will carry on 2017 $2,281,021 on dead money and save $3,000,000 the same for 2018 $2,281,021, $3,000,000 and 2019 $1,600,000, $4,000,000, the bad thing about cutting Scandrick is that we would not have experienced players, with the exception of Carroll.

Scandrick looked slow and indecisive last year. And he's a horse's patoot in the locker room.

I was listening to one of the Cowboy podcast recently (cant remember which) and they were saying even though hes not very friendly with the media he is considered by many in the locker room to be a leader.

I like the idea of him being pissed off. It will make him train harder and work to be the best he can be.

He was going to be a jerk either way. At least this way he might play better.

Ain't that the truth! I just want him to shut up and play. Suck it up, Buttercup!
