Orlando Scandrick trade talk

Wow,,, surprised at how many are ready throw Scandrick under the bus. He has been an excellent player for us and was injured last year,,, cut him some slack!

The operable words in you post are "has been". This is a "what have you shown me lately" league don't you know?

If they do, I'm blaming the coaches lol

It's fair to expect an INT from the CBs (collectively) at least every other game. That'd be only 8 between 3-4 CBs, I'd say that's easily obtainable. If they can't do that, then someone is coaching them wrong or badly.

Oh, how I long for the days of Thurman's Thieves when they averaged 2 picks a game.
I know, I know... different game, different time. But still.... memories.

A quick hook isn't the answer for an injured player though, not unless you're sure he's 'done' or you've got a sure-fire replacement ready to go,,, and even as a 3rd or 4th CB he'd have value in a secondary equipped with training wheels.

Maybe, maybe not... He's always been kind of a peculiar fellow and since he knows the FO may be willing to trade him, he might
not be of so much value in the DB room. If he comes to work he will be here in September, if he pouts and lingers, he may be shown
the door.

You could say that about any player, I'm not one to ascribe hypothetical actions and behaviors to a player just for the sake of beating him down on the interwebz.

Scandy's a big boy. He needs to put his big boy panties on and realize that this is business. He'll be auditioning for other teams this year so he'd be stupid not to give 110% all year.....

I agree with you and I'm not really beating him down so much. It's just the nature of the NFL that Coaches are always looking to replace players with better players and at 30 years of age more injuries seem to take their toll. NFL football is a 365day replacement business and Scandrick is starting to have injuries even minor ones which makes him worth less as a money investment. That goes for every player on the team. If all players were similar to Witten, they could all play into their 30's.

I've always liked Scandrick's backbone and willingness to challenge any of the hot shot receivers, we're going to need a lot of that from the newbies to compete at the next level.

If you read the many draft profiles of the 1st two CB's we took, then you know that they are fierce ballers who are just in the mold of Scandrick except much
younger, cheaper and healthier.

Yep, which is the main reason I don't want him gone right now. Not so much for his play (I think he's still solid) but for his Vet attitude, these DBs could learn a lot about how to be tough minded and physical player from watching him.

Maybe we can do him a solid and trade him to an LA team since that's what he seems more interested in nowadays with his off and on again relationship

And they are good at getting INTs.

Scandrick's biggest problem was a complete lack of ball skills.

This is the worst part of the year.

The period between the last minicamp in June and the beginning of TC is the worst for me.

We just had the draft and minicamps are about to get rolling. DC.com does a good job of showing us that stuff.

By mid July the basketball season is over and it's just baseball.

Not bad. It's only $1460. Makes a great gym bag or messing around bag
