Update at 12:28 a.m. ET, May 2. Bin Laden "Did Resist":
According to senior administration officials briefing reporters, bin Laden did "resist the assault force" during the firefight that led to his death.
They've also told reporters that no other nation was told in advance of the raid.
Update at 12:25 a.m. ET, May 2: "Surgical" Operation:
Senior administration officials are briefing reporters now on some of the operation's details. They say that along with bin Laden, three adult males and one women were killed. The woman, they say, was being used as a shield by one of the men. The operation, they say, was a "surgical" raid carried out by a small team that flew to the site on helicopters. One helicopter, they say, had problems and was destroyed at the site by the U.S. personnel — who then flew out aboard the other helicopter.

I'm interested to hear what that actually means.

Dude was older than all hell now. 67 or something. Lanky old guy gonna try to get crazy in the face of a bunch of 20 to 30-something year olds stacked with guns?

Man, I can't wait until the story really comes out.

i think they rock warlord pro, ninja pro and ghost pro

Knowing their ambush techniques include homemade explosives, I'd swap out Ghost Pro for Flack Jacket Pro.......just in case.

he was 54

Was he? I thought I heard the English "dime dropping" fool say that he was like 54 back in 1997 when he did an interview with him.

From http://www.************/politico44/...ody_c2fb2ffb-5240-40c6-b106-956bf2ebff6a.html

Here is what will happen to the body. The United States is treating Osama bin Laden's body in "accordance with Islamic practice," a White House official says.
Asked how bin Laden's body will be treated, a senior administration official told reporters on a conference call that "we are ensuring that is handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition."
CNN reports that it must be buried within 24 hours.

Not exactly what I expected.

I've got overlapping Nelles maps on my wall of the entire region from the eastern part of Iran to North and West India. It's considerably closer to India than it is to Afghanistan.

Some dude or dudette was playing video games in a mountain in Colo. and the drone in Pakistan did the deed. He or she had good reactions with the trigger on their Xbox.

Kind of afraid of the Mideast reaction. I think they've kind of given up OBL as a lost cause. I'm not sure he's a hero to anybody over there who's rational.

Off topic, I'm wondering when free agency, both vet and rookie, is a reality, how much drama will there be? UDFAs may not get a chance to prove themselves like in a six week training camp as usual - there may be three weeks and no time for raw rooks to get snaps. Maybe there will be a reserve squad for UDFAs for next season like you can keep 12 of them for next season since they got no real chance to play now. Just hypothetical ... on the other hand the thing will probably get worked out by July 10 in time for everything ...

For everyone that's supported the military during the last decade, I'd just like to extend a special thanks.

Two years ago in March, one of my best friends from West Point was killed in action in Samarra, Iraq. Tonight is the first time that I have felt genuine peace with his passing knowing that his actions were not in vain.
