What are the movies/actors with the buzz (didn't get to theatres much this year)?

I'm really late, I wanted to see American Hustle and Wolf on Wall Street

Why is gravity winning all of these awards?

That movie is very average and I can't believe the hype it's been given.

Didn't see it, but my friends who did thought it was slightly above mediocre. Certainly a surprise as far as the non-technical awards...

Yay, Brad Pitt finally got an Oscar...as a producer. Still can't believe Leo DiCaprio hasnt one yet. Same with Johnny Depp.

McConaghey's speech was great, glad he won. I liked the "Dazed and Confused" ending with "all right, all right" :cool:

Guess I need to see "Twelve years a Slave" soon...................

Di Caprio aye, as was said it's surprising he hasn't already won one, but is Depp not too much of a comedy actor to be in with a genuine shout?

Basketball Diaries really changed my opinion of Leo as an actor and have appreciated his talent ever since. Was Great in Gilbert Grape as well but his performance in"Basketball Diaries" was Oscar worthy in my uninformed opinion. The only thing preventing him from getting academy attention for that movie was how brilliant he was @ such a young age and the average reviews bc it was a very underrated/underappreciated movie at the time of release, etc. Has since gotten the credit it deserved...

Think it was Blood Diamond I changed my opinion of him.

Leo will get one but not so sure about Depp. Leo makes the kind of movies that have Oscar potential, Depp...not so much. Personally, I think Johnny is more talented but making movies like Dark Shadows, Lone Ranger, Pirates, Sweeney Todd, etc etc give him little chance IMO. His best chance so far was in Blow and Public Enemies and they didn't come close.

Excellent movie and goes into some depth about the complicated rebel/army (at that minute;)) motives that complicate any stable peace and the introspective justifications of Afrikaners as well. Connolly is probably the most natural beauty of our generation (Raquel Welch)
