OSU vs. ND

ND 0-13 in their last 13 Bowl games. Great start Charlie.

Not quite, they beat Texas A & M in the 1994 Cotton Bowl 24-21. They also missed a couple of bowl appearences over the last 10 years, today they lost their 8th consecutive bowl game, to The Ohio State Buckeyes.:spanking:

I'll take Brady Quinn, Brady Quinn's sister, AJ Hawk, Santonio Holmes, and Bobby Carpenter thank you very much.
And Jim Tressel.
OSU really exposed how few weapons ND has and their suspect defense. I think Quinn still played well against the best d in the country.
Troy Smith has played exceptionally well this season, no way UT could beat Ohio St about one month later after their original game. I don't think Troy's success will translate that well but he's turned into a fine college QB.

Plus the fact that it is Notre Dame hurts their bowl record. They always end up in a "higher" bowl than they deserve. Take playing darn good Ohio St. team today. Based on how good they really were this year, do you really think they should have been in the Fiesta?

12 years without a bowl win my fault

Most likely not. But, these bowls (outside the Championship)are about recruiting and $$$$, and since they won't let Penn St. play OSU because of the same conference, the dollar signs and interest was in Notre Dame and OSU.

I know and that's unfortunate. Ohio St./Penn St. was the best defensive football game I've seen in years. I'd have loved to see the hitting a rematch would have brought.

Hawk would look Great as a Cowboy Linebacker!

Tressel is Great...Go Buckeyes!!!

Oh.

If that's the case, in breaking news, so distraught over his team's Fiesta Bowl loss, ND Head Coach Charlie Weis resigns effective immediately.

Locally, in Dallas, in a surprise move, Jerry Jones has fired Bill Parcells as coach of the Cowboys and is expected to hand the reigns to Former ND Head Coach Charlie Weis. Brady Quinn has also announced his intention to forgo his senior season and enter the draft. :)
I like your dream better.

Hawk was Robbed!

Quite possible. Hard to figure how he was voted conference defensive player of the year, and then the Penn State jr. got the Butkus.

Or the other way around for that matter.

I was thinking the same thing. Given he is dating Quinn's sister, when he would talk smack after a sack about, well you know to his sister, he really meant it ;)

The Notre Dame loss at least takes some of the sting away from not making the playoffs.

I think alot of the voters based their vote on only the OSU/PSU game. Hawk lost his jock on Williams' TD and Posluzny dominated.

If Posluzny declares (I'd put the odds at around 40% talking to people right now), I'd much rather have him than Hawk. He may not have the physical skills although it's close, but he's much more technically sound.

I still say that Hodge from Iowa has the best pro potential in the B10 this year out of the known availables. I think he'll be very similar to Vilma as a pro.

Smith is special. I cnat tell if he could translate it into pros, but i like his high elbow when he holds the ball, always zips a tight spiral, and even when he runs, he looks to pass
over 400 yards of total offense I believe. that's huge.
He handled himself pretty well with the microphone after the game as well.
