I really love the way you guys devalue guys around the league. The Chargers just got a WR who will be the best one on their team for a second round pick which, depending on where they draftmay be around the 50th pick.

They need a WR and they went out and got one.

It is a lot like how some of you did not think Plaxico was any good when the Giants got him:rolleyes:

You should try watching 50/50 Chambers every week. :lmao2:

Vincent Jackson is far better than Chambers.

It does go to show you what a turd Antonio Bryant must be though. I mean Norv had him last year in SF and he was pretty successful and would not even touch him for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Burress didn't cost the Giants a draft pick.

Ask the Commanders how trading picks for flashy, spectacular catch receivers worked out for them.

Vincent Jackson.... Please....all 50 catches for 850 yards for his career... yeah right.

Chambers has 11 more catches and 100 more yards with Trent Green as QB this year - don't even try to compare those two!

I have seen Chambers play, he has been a very good WR through his career. Is he one of the top guys, absolutely not, but if you put him in a good system he will be a very valuable player.

I bet he outperforms Jackson on San Diego the rest of the year!

I did not say he cost them a draft pick, it was just about how people portray players around here!

He's also been thrown a mind-boggling 31 MORE TIMES!

You can't possibly understand unless you watch him every week. I do. I know. You can trust me on this one - he is no good. His occasional highlight reel game is dreadfully offset by his inability to be consistent. He's been thrown the ball more than any receiver in the league but Houshmanzadeh and Derrick Mason, and he has 100 more yards and 3 less TDs than freaking Vincent Jackson.

You know his name cuz you've seen him on ESPN - but you don't know his game.

Chambers has been one of the league's most overrated players for some time. He's put up some extremely mediocre numbers for someone who receives a lot of attempts. I've also read reports that he's not the hardest worker or the greatest lockerroom guy, which might be another reason why Cameron wanted him gone.

If he played for us he'd be labeled a bust already. He's only playing because Marvin Harrison is hurt.

What is that they say? "the proof is in the pudding"

Talk to me at the end of the year when Chambers is not the leading WR (not TE) for the Bolts. Before then, we can agree to disagree.

I am hearing that that they gave up a 2nd....if so that was incredibly stupid..especially since they would have to get through Pitt/Indy/NE to make it to the Super Bowl. I would not have wanted Dallas to do that either...but we can make it to the Super Bowl without him...but to win a Super Bowl we are going to need a healthy Glenn or a Chris Chambers type player...but not at the expense of a 2nd round pick

I hear what you are saying but I would rather have an established receiver then draft another Carp, Rogers or Peterman in the 1st 2nd or 3rd round.

He'll always be a slot 3rd WR. A first on that kind of value is kinda high. They most likely could have got him with their 2nd rounder. What they really should have done was take Ugoh with their first pick and trade up about 5-10 slots to get Gonzalez with their second pick. It probably wouldn't have taken their '08 first round pick to make that trade.

Why can't I talk to you now, when last year Chambers didn't even lead his own team in yardage despite being thrown the ball 53 times more than Wes Welker, and 63 times more than Marty Booker - two players who beat him in yardage catching passes from the same dreadful QBs?

Oh, but I done seen some plays he made on teh Sportszcenter, so he must be good!

Trust me - it isn't so.

Here's the yards per pass attempt average for Miami's top three receivers last year.

Booker: 8.3
Welker: 6.87
Chambers: 4.42

The proof, is indeed - in the pudding.

So I understand this thrown to stat. I know TO led the league in drops last year so I am trying to figure out why it means he should have more catches just because he is thrown to when he does not have drops to show for it. I guess they were bad passes then right, or are you saying he is running incorrect or lazy routes. Please quantify what these extra thrown to stats consist of because I know that they don't show you all the WR routes every Sunday on TV. Are you at the games to see all of his routes live?

To was thrown to, what like 9-10 times vs Buffalo and he had 3 catches - was that his fault?

Gonzalez wouldn't have survived to the 20+ pick in the 2nd, there was a lot of buzz around him, some people even considered him a better NFL prospect than his team mate, Ted Ginn.

I'm sure when Welker was drafted, people didn't expect much, but all it takes is the right system and I think any WR can develop into an impact player in the Colts system.

People thought they reached for Ugoh even where they drafted him, so taking him in the first round would have been even more ridiculous.

They made the gamble assuming their 1st pick next year would have been pretty low anyway, and it looks like it will be.

LOL, of course not. The wife's a Doplhins fan and we watch all their games. He struggles to get separation and make routine catches. The thrown to stat is the number of times he was targeted on a pass play - and the outrageous discrepancy between him and his teammates shows that you cannot brush that away with "his QB sucks".

I heard the same crap about Brandon Lloyd when the Skins traded for him. Turns out, he's the same receiver no matter what QB throws to him.

The same can (and will) be said for 50/50 Chambers.

And the Chargers continue to stockpile average receivers. :lmao2:

Nice job drafting Davis in the first round.

I agree he's an average WR.

But he's automatically the best WR in SD now.

Which tells you a lot about their WRs.
