Geez, when did you grad from the "HH31 School of Posting"? Where did you read in my post I was "over looking" anyone, ESPECIALLY at this point in the tourny!!??

My point is, NCS had like a 4-1 ratio of 3's taken this year, to shots inside the ark coming into that game. But it was UT who went up 18-5, w/ Gibson hitting like 3 3's in a row at one point.

Then 2nd period, UT went back inside, while NCS went like 0-5 on trips down the floor, w/ like 4 of those shots being 3 attempts.

If you wanna get in a 3 point shooting match w/ UT, you better not go cold, because they can launch 'em w/ the best of 'em. Plus they got 2 of the best board crashers in the country in P.J. Tucker and LaMarcus Aldridge

WVU lives and dies by the three. That is why I said if they are hitting on them beware.

If they are hitting on them they can beat any team in the country PERIOD.

If they are not hitting they are dead.

They are #2 in the nation hitting the threes, not the big east, the nation.

Plus you will see that even if they are hitting the threes that texas will have a HUGE advantage in the rebounding dept as WVU is near the bottom of the nation in Rebounds. Yet they still win.

They also have a very good TO ratio.

If WVU is hitting on those threes, which can also help open up the backdoor cuts then Texas will lose period.

If they are not, then texas will win period as WVU will start rushing shots and miss even more.

But somehow whether you say it or not, I feel most texas fans are overlooking WVU....I just hope the team is as well.

Well, since none of those fans are suiting up as far as I know, I'm not too concerned. BTW, just what is it you're basing your "most fans are" theory on?

I'm pretty sure when players get to this point in a tourny, NO opponent's "overlooked". Kinda hard to overlook your next op, when you don't even know who the following one would be, don't you think?

You don't think some of the teams that lost did not overlook teams?
Do you think some of these teams did not overlook Wichita state, Bradley or George Mason.

You don't think some college teams overlook teams when they have beaten them previously.

Have you never seen a team, no matter the level just come out flat thinking they are just the better team and can win.

WVU has to play the role of the underdog, they are from the get go vs Texas just by the seed rankings alone.

Think back to the Sugar Bowl in football, do you not think that Georgia over looked WVU...clearly they thought they were the better team. They figured they were basically playing at home and WVU would choke again like they normally do in Bowl Games. Yet it was a BCS game and should have been taken seriously. I do ineed think teams overlook other teams.

It is just a feeling I have that many teams in this tourney overlook other teams and have paid for it and will continue to pay for it.

Eitherway it is all moot at this time as we don't know who will win. But it is fun banter.

Oh and I think they already know that if they win their next game would be against Duke or LSU and I would bet many figure Duke will win.

Texas lacks heart and toughness because of Rick Barnes? What BS...Barnes is one of the better coaches in the country and done a remarkable job with the UT program

Gillespie is a good coach but I wouldnt trade Rick Barnes for him

They have gone to sweet 16's, elite 8's and even the Final four under his watch. You dont win as many games as UT has with having no heart or no mental toughness

Over the past five years 52 different teams have reached the Sweet 16.

Of that number Duke has made it to all five.

The number of teams that have made it to four out of five?

Texas and UConn. That's it.

Yet UT players have no heart?

when A&M even sniffs the final four let me know

Yet your in here talking trash about how UT players are heartless. Pot...meet Kettle

A&M had a nice team this year but it remains to be seen how far the A&M program grows.

It's not trash, its a fact. Texas has played down to their opponents level all year. Texas has enough talent to overlook bad teams and get by (most of the time).

fact because you say so? :lmao2:

UT won the most games it has in the history of the program this season including some key wins over #1 seed teams like Nova and Memphis..not to mention other big wins. Sure they lost some games they shouldnt have but you can say the same thing about any team in the country on that. the bottom line is you dont finish with the record UT dod this year and win as many games as UT did this year by just playing down to the competiton or having no heart

but continue to claim that BS if it makes you feel better...certainly doesnt make it fact

I will root for them as you have to root for WVU...of course unless there is sometime when they would play each other, but not sure if that would happen.
The only way that could happen is if they both made it to the final four. I'm not sure either team can pull that off. I'll be happy with a win over Bradley and an appearance in the Elite 8......for a team that only has 2 seniors and starts 3 freshmen that would be a great season.

How about 40+ rebounds for Texas and 16 for WVU...and it came down to a buzzer beater shot.

Great Game.

Now I want LSU to wax you guys.:D

On a serious note I think I am pulling for Memphis now.
I liked Gonzaga but they are out now.

I think Memphis takes out UCLA.

Yea, teams that shoot a lot of 3's generally get beat-up on the rebounding stats.

I think a good thing for texas is that I think LSU may be so pumped during the Duke game and afterwards that they may have a let down vs Texas.

We have seen teams have a big win over a top team and then go out the next game exhausted and not being able to match the intensity of their last game.

Hey Paint,

Tough luck on that game. WVU played a heck of a game. A shame somebody had to lose that one. Not surprising to me thou. Seems like it doesn't matter what sport. Those Mountainers never go away easy.

Anyway, good game from your homeboys.

Thanks.

And next year that basketball program will be nowhere near as good as this years, they will lose too many seniors.:

But I am looking forward to the Football team as they are loaded with young players.:D

Does Pittsnoggle have a pro game? I haven't seen much of him but he seems like a good gritty blue collar player.

No, its a fact because:

You lost to A&M (a clearly inferior team talent wise) and almost lost to them again in the Big 12 tournament

You almost lost to Texas Tech (worst team in the Big 12)

You almost lost to Penn (a team most decent HS varsity teams could beat)

You lost BADLY to Oklahoma State (a very average team at best this year)

You almost lost to Kansas State (another bottom feeder)

Yes, Texas plays down to their competition's level time after time. Once? Ok, maybe a bad game. Twice? Ok, everyone has a few bad days. 6 times? For a supposed title contender?

LOL@the perpetually demonstrative nature of the aggy fan, and their "we're not that bad because y'all lost to us once in the last 10" nature.

"Look, a blimp!!!!!!"

Failure to face the facts and instead bring up completely irrelavent babble about how "aggy" (Jesus, learn to spell) sucks. Another characteristic of the Texas t-shirt fanbase.

You are embarrassing yourself. Teams that make it to the elite 8 are not ones that have no heart. They are usually teams that combine talent and heart to succeed. That is a fact. Suck it up, just because A&M lost a tough game doesn't mean you have to make stuff up about Texas having no heart.

By the way, Penn has a soild program. They have been for years. They just don't have access to the great talent.

He is a good outside shooter but for a big man he really does not have much inside game.
