Or, how about bench-pressing with a thumb issue?

from what i read, it's just being able to wrap his thumb around the bar. i don't have the same issue but still prefer an open grip on bench (thumb same side as fingers).

Dude relax, I was joking around. Could careless about this bum Weems.

that bum is a player on your supposed favorite team. you SHOULD care about him to some extent while he dons the star and uniform.

i never understood why someone would risk this kind of thing (or worse) by not wrapping the thumb around the bar.

Remembering back to what happened to Stafon Johnson at USC, you just have to be glad it was his chest instead of his throat.

I'm sure hes bruised as hell right about now, but I also hope he realizes how lucky he is here and adjusts his technique if it can help prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

“He dropped the 325-pound bench press bar on his chest,” head coach Jason Garrett said. “So he’s dealing with that right now.”

lol, I'm probably the only one that finds this line hilarious. Like either A) He dropped the weight and we left him there to deal with it or B) He dropped the weight, and I couldn't really care less.

Reporter: "Wow, that sounds painful!"
Garrett: "We picked up on that from his blood curdling screams."

NfL lineman benching 325? Hell I remember a few sophomore guys in high school that could bench close to that weight.

Who ever would let their spotter hold 100% of the weight? That's ridiculously dumb.

Never. I don't care if you got nothing left. Use your legs if you have to. If you don't care for safety at least do it for the sake of getting most out of your work out.

Dang...sounds like a very painful situation to me. He probably shouldn't have been trying to work out like that with a bad thumb. Would have been better off going with the chest press machine instead.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure how Weems worked himself into this situation. All of these guys have spent a tremendous amount of time in the weight room and should know how to lift properly.

Wow from Larry Allen to this....shame how far this franchise has fallen.

If you hate the Cowboys so much, why come here? You're either bashing Romo, or the Cowboy flavor of the day. It's old.
