This was a really good RB class and it will be interesting to see how they all do.

Kevin Smith at Detroit will be their bell cow this year and could rack up a ton of yards, and Matt Forte at Chicago will probably unseat Benson.

I know you don't want to hear this Chief but look out for my boy Charles. I'm a homer but I do think he might end up in the perfect situation in KC. To me, that could turn out to be the best running combination in the NFL.

It's cliche, but the guy is just a flat-out "football player". It'd be fun to have a guy like that on the team.

Julius will have a pretty good FB opening up holes for him this year.

Reggie Bush is the more over-rated, over-hyped player in the NFL second to Vince Young.

Both players blow, they were talked about like they were Jesus Christ and the Prophet Mohammad and Mario Williams was touted as Colonial Sanders.

THAN, Marion Williams puts on a dominating performance last season and no one mentions him. It's still all "Vince Young" "Reggie Bush"

Rant over.

Bear of a back
Chicago went into last month’s draft targeting Tulane’s running back Matt Forte in the second round. From the start, it planned to draft Forte if he still were there. And he was.

After watching Forte at their rookie minicamp last weekend, the Bears believe they made the right choice.

The 6-foot-2, 222-pound Forte demonstrated the ability to be an everydown back, as well as the back the Bears need to upgrade their running game.

Had Forte slid one more spot in the draft, to the 45th selection, the Detroit Lions might have pounced on him, reshuffling the looks of the running game in the NFC North. When Detroit did not get Forte, it opted for Kevin Smith with the 64th overall pick in the third round.

Name to remember
The best undrafted free agents are signed right away.

The overlooked ones are fortunate to score tryouts somewhere.

But Fresno State running back Clifton Smith made the most of his. The Buccaneers brought him to Tampa for last weekend’s rookie minicamp and the 5-foot-9, 192-pound Smith made such an impression that the Buccaneers signed him Monday to a free-agent contract.

The Buccaneers believe Smith, Fresno State’s team MVP last season, could be a sleeper, helping them not only in the backfield but in the return game. Last season, Smith averaged 14.4 yards per punt return.

Of course, it’s a long way from now until the final cuts, but for now, Tampa Bay is encouraged.

Good grief. How could he demonstrate the ability to be an everydown back in a rookie-only minicamp with no pads?

And I like Forte. But this hype is ridiculous.

Well, I don't know that I agree with this. I would not have taken Reggie as High as NO did but hey, I'm not them. Having said that, he did have a pretty decent season when Duece McAllister was in there running the ball. I mean, in two seasons, the guy has produced 2305 yards and 14 TDs.

As for Young, well, he was the ROY, went 8-5 as a rookie winning 6 straight and set every rookie passing record for QB the Titans have. I don't know that I would call that such a bad season.

I think that both will eventually work out. JMO

Reggie Bush is not overrated, not one bit. He is not a bust, bum, or anything else negative that people may say.

I wish we could have gotten him, but I love the RBs we have.
Bush just needed to learn that the things he did in college some/all will not work in the NFL. Even though it is just football, the NFL is a different level, better coaching, to start with, and he plays against top players every week. In college you may play top teams every 2 or 3 weeks, and even on some of those top teams they may not always have top players playing in the different positions.

His rookie season, yes was a learning season, but he had Deuce, and I'm sure everyone will agree that with Deuce there Bush did not get to see/learn as much as he did this past season, and you know what the same goes for Sean Peyton, he was a rookie head coach in 2006, and he showed his aggressive nature all season but in that playoff game in Chicago, that aggressive nature, was a key thing in their loss to the Bears. The Seahawks had shown them the week before that the Bears defense could be run on. The weather was made for Bush and Deuce to gash the bears defense, and they did, with all of the 10 running plays that they ran, 6 carries for Deuce, 4 for Bush or vice versa.

Then this past season I Peyton traded away the RB that they drafted from Ohio St., that could have been their workhorse when Deuce went down.
Peyton loves the aggressive down the field plays, they are exciting, intoxicating and Bush's abilities makes you love that even more.

Yes, this past season Bush learned what he would have learned last season, if Deuce had not been there.

I will go on record now and say that both Peyton and Bush will do a lot better than last season, and show that neither is a bust.

I am not a Vy fan, so I am just waiting to give him the official bust tag. But we must give him his 3rd season to see if he can become a true NFL QB.

Reggie blows. He's scared to run in between the tackles and tries to turn 4 in 40 on every play.

See you later Reggie! May you rot in New Orleans!

I actually think Bush is going to have a big season.

Maybe if Bush shaved, the hole could be easier to see.
