my second favorite pick is Tapper, i didn't expect Smith in the 2nd round, i hope that turns into a great story for us.

I got to go with Jaylon Smith. I feel it was worth the gamble. If he heals up we got a steal and a stud. I also like the guys personality, his character and work ethic. He's my favorite guy besides Double E in this draft because I really want the kid to be healthy and succeed because he seems like a great guy, positive person who won't give up. We need players with that attitude in the locker room, that positive vibe can be contagious.

I have to say Dak. I like most of the picks. But there's excitement at potentially finding a future franchise quarterback. Now i'm not saying that's Dak. But I am saying I don't know if he can't be either. He has the tools. You just don't know if his game will translate into the NFL. And the fact that we got him with the later 4th round pick......there's an excitement there. I loved all the picks though.

Right now, I have to say Tapper. He was the sparQiest DE in the draft and was playing out of position as a 3-4 DE at OU. I expect Marinelli to make something out of him. Next year, I might change my mind to Smith..... I can't say there was any one pick I was disappointed with (wanted DE in the 2nd round, but they were gone)....all of them are good athletes with upside and the Boys did a good job of filling needs at DE, DT, CB, S, RB and QB without reaching.

Is the entire point of this thread to troll the people who obviously dont like the elliott pick?

Sometimes I think a reply like that is unnecessary.

Then I remember I do it a lot.

I need to quit it.

Honestly, all the picks were blah to me after Zeke. My excitement for the Smith pick is tempered by the fact that he won't be playing this year, we needed defensive help THIS YEAR, there's a possibility his nerve may not regenerate fully and that he was taken in the second round.

As for the rest, it just seems we're always drafting potential after the second round. Sigh.

Collins for me too,he is a classic 3 tech and in our scheme he will flourish.I think i agree with Jerry that he may even start and we move Crawford to De on base downs till the idiot DEs get back.

Smith. I can't see a guy with that much heart not making it back 100% next year. In two years we may prove to have the two best players in this years draft.

Smith because the pick and following discussion taught me a lot about neurology.

People didn't believe me when I said Spencer would be back because of how his microfracture had progressed a few years ago. I have that same feeling about Smith's prognosis. Barring a setback he will be back sooner than people think.

And given the fact that our surgeons operated on him, I guarantee you Jerry knows something about his true prognosis that no other team knows. That's why he made the pick.

Since I wasn't a huge fan of the Day 2 picks I will have to go with Dak Prescott. I think he can develop into a very good backup QB.

Other than that, my favorite would be Rico Gathers. This guy is very intriguing to me. Has the tools now he needs the coaching. I wouldn't bet against this guy. He's got the right football temperament. He's not 'soft' that's for sure.

Tapper, defensive end was a need for us and they finally addressed it in the fourth round. I'm optimistic for a few reasons first here is his quote for an article NewsBot posted in the news forum:
Tapper described himself like this: "high motor, raw, passionate player. Every play I am going to go out there like it's my last. Whatever coach tells me to do I am going to do out there and do it 110 miles per hour." My favorite clip of him wasn't the sacks he got although they were impressive, it was his hustle plays he ran down a receiver 30 yards downfield and made the tackle. He has the physical tools and will get great coaching and that kind of effort makes me think he might do what it takes to be successful at the next level.
