Jerry got cute with the draft. He should have just drafted a need, which was WR. Otree is a baller tho and would definitely contribute more than RW.I am not saying start but in the slot, thats sweet.

This is at least more levelheaded than your previous posts.

I'm certainly not against working Ogletree in more to see what he can do. So far we have really only used him on the quick screens. We need to see more of what he can do running patterns and catching more difficult passes.

Going by what I've read, the coaches have only given Kevin Ogletree a limited package, including the WR screen, to concentrate on and learn.

It seems they didn't want to overwhelm him with too much of the playbook, something the majority of rookies have trouble digesting upon entering the NFL.

Did KO even get in for an offensive snap yesterday? I don't remember seeing him.

I'd like to get him more snaps.

Its time.Romo likes him. Jerry likes him. The kid is laterally quick and can get OPEN and move the chains. RW is doing nothing.

And Garrett will just have him run the screen instead of working the middle of the field... Man, did you see how Welker just took advantage of the LBs against the Jets...

I say pretend that RW is hurt for the season, and do WHATEVER we would do without him.. Ogletree being that answer. You don't want to go to the playoffs with RW playing like this, get Ogletree in there and watch our offense. We'd have two UDFA starting with Crayton in the slot, RW is simply nothing.

So, we just start experimenting rather than building toward the playoffs ......

Look at what Bluefin wrote above. A lot of folks seem to forget this about him. He has looked good, but he hasn't been asked to do much. They have made it simple for him. Beign ready to take on a big role is an entirely different thing, and we can't just scrap things to experiment. If we want to ease him in more, fine. If we want to use Crayton as more the No. 2, fine. but you don't just experiment with an unknown, which is exactly what Ogletree is at this point.

Olgetree isn't an unknown.

We have seen him catch 4 passes! It was so magical! He needs to start! Championship!

I'll take Ogletree and the unknown over Roy and the known. Here's what I know of Roy: afraid to take a hit, gator-arms over the middle, loses ball in lights, fumbles after huge gain, etc.

Wow. What is going on in here? Regardless of how terrible roy williams may have looked how can some of you people seriously be calling to start Ogletree?
When i read some of these post i am not sure if the OP is joking or maybe trying to get a reaction. What do you base your confidence on? Do you have some secret inside knowledge of an undrafted rookie that wasnt even extremely productive in college.?
If you just want Roy on the bench well at least say Crayton or Hurd. Crayton has more TD's than Ogletree has catches.

Please explain what you are thinking by calling for him to start. And saying RW sucks isnt enough. You need to explain why Ogletree should leap over Crayton, Hurd, and RW. You must have something.......

when you hate something bad enough, logic need not apply.

i'm all for replacing roy if he doesn't get his %*(@#(* together, but i'm going to want a bit more than the latest rookie "can't miss" to do that with.

esp when 9 out of 10 can't miss players, miss.

I don't think Ogletree is anywhere near the best option at WR right now. However, he does bring something none of our other receivers can. He's QUICK. How many times do we have a quick hitter to a WR? Almost never. None of our receivers can get off the line very quick. I'm sure Austin is faster, but he's not quicker. I'd like to see Ogletree get a few looks like Wes Welker gets. He should not be a starter, but he should get some looks. Again, he could bring something to our offense that no one else can.

I believe Olgetree is a better option than Roy Williams and I believe the Cowboys should get him envovled while their going down the stretch.

The thing that is so laughable about all this is that you guys act as if the only option for dealing with Roy is to replace him with an undrafted free agent who barely made the team and has 4 NFL receptions, none of which required catching a ball that traveled more than 10 yards.

Roy can be de-emphasized, Roy can share time ont the field, Crayton can replace Roy with the No. 3 handled by Hurd or by Roy or by some rotation of several people (including Ogletree).

There are options outside of making Ogiltree a starter.

For you people this isn't just about being upset with Roy, it's just as much about jumping on the bandwagon of an unproven player.

mostly cause ya'll hate roy. fine, go ahead. but i'm not one to let a flash in the pan guide overall descisions. knee-jerkers like this will do it all the time.

OH HELL! he caught a pass - replace roy with him!

and then a few months later if/when he doesn't pan out, you won't go "mistake" you'll just say "i still hate roy".

it's a messed up mindset for regular people to deal with at times.

I wouldn't start Ogiltree, but if RW is not making the catches thrown to him, and continued drops passes or fumbled during a game, then I wouldn’t be opposed to sitting him at the half and putting Ogiltree in his place.

So, you favor an undrafted free agent who barely made the team, has only 4 NFL receptions (all very short passes) and who hasn't even yet been exposed to the full playbook over sliding Crayton into a starting role?

I can't wait to hear the logic ....... please fill us in.

I'm just saying, I support pragmatic solutions. If something not working, try something else. I like Crayton where he is and I don’t think he fits well into the starting role. If RW cant find his groove during a game, is not making the catches thrown to him, or is constantly dropping passes, then I don’t see the harm in trying out a different option. Heck, maybe it will light a file under RW and drive him to perform better or maybe KO will be more productive—only one way to find out.

We're going to put Ogletree ahead of RW, when all those Aggies move to Austin.
