Had one real drive. Sad. I like Rico, but the home run back is Duece.
Ok let's be honest with ourselves about this team and our running backs.........

They aren't really good.

Yes Rico had 1k yards and that is an accomplishment.

But look at who he ran on....he struggled against the better defenses and for good reason. The offensive line wasn't good enough to block for him.

And I agree Deuce should've got a chance but typically its for good reason. The reason why guys like Deuce and Lance haven't played? They aren't very good. They looked decent against a decent Commanders team who had nothing to play for.

there better be three new backs on this roster in the fall
I mean truthfully. I'd draft two running backs but realistically go draft someone, sign a vet.....maybe bring Rico back.

But we are better than this. Cowboys have a rich history of running backs and we are resorting to rooting for a 6th rounder and a undrafted rookie free agent who we signed 5 years ago is not IT.

The dude had 2 series today. And had more speed and explosion than any back on either team.
He's just not a NFL back. Everyone knew it which is why they passed up on him. He's a guy easy to root for and I want to see him succeed but I don't think its gonna be in the NFL.

Deuce Vaughn's rushing stats today vs Commanders 1st string Defense:

6 rushing attempts, 37 yards, 6.2 yards/carry average.

Yeah, what a bum. He sucks.
Don't forget...He stoned Warner (241) and Ferell (265) when he had to pass protect.

You know, do what most of his critics said he couldn't do a million times since he was drafted.

He sure didn't look a liability to me putting those big guys down.

He was drafted for publicity. Helping the team is just an afterthought to these people.

How many NFL players sucked in college? Thanks for showing what a great college player he was. Not too many bad college players get drafted though.
You are implying Deuce is a bad player simply because he has no production to support he is a good player. It's not his fault these coaches don't know how to use him. If Deuce truly was bad, he wouldn't have averaged over 6 yards per carry after 6 carries against a playoff bound team who has a pretty good defense.

The Deuce critics in this thread saw Deuce stonewall both Warner and Ferell. Ironic how they aren't mentioning that while continuing to insinuate that he isn't an NFL capable RB?

Rico is good at everything but not great. I'd let him test the market and match what I expect to be a reasonable deal. Then go get a stud in the draft. Deuce can be our third string back if we have coaches who can figure out how to utilize him.

I don't get the Vaughn stuff. I like the guy but i'd be more concerned with trying to get Luepke and Turpin involved in the offense then Vaughn. Turpin is who people think Vaughn is. He has elite speed.

Rico is not bad but like you said he's not great at anything and that's fine. But we can do better there.
