Our defense is gonna be scary good

Agree 100%...I expect the Cowboys to have a top 5 Defense going into the playoffs....

YES......PLAYOFFS!!!!

:starspin
try we breeze through the playoffs and into the super bowl :p:

It amazes me how easily the Defense's #10 ranking can be disregarded. The fact is that given that it was Dallas' first year running the scheme, it's nothing short of amazing!

And that was playing a bunch of rookies as well!

Does no one else see this?

Am I alone here?

Think of how many rookies were playing.

Think that this was Zimmer's first year coaching the 3-4.

Consider the injury losses of several veretan players.

The fact that Dallas was still able to field the 10th ranked defense was a terrific accomplishment and both Zimmer and the players should be praised, not criticized.

and add the fact that we had the most sacks and forced turnovers in a long time

Coleman isn't a lock to start.

Davis at FS again would be :bang2: :bang2:

Then again, I don't think that the Cowboys would bring in Coleman if they didn't think he was better than Davis.

whoever starts this year will be better than what we had last year, that is a given, because davis has only progressed so any1 who beats him out is better than him and if he wins out he is better than he was last year . . .

btw our pass rush has also improved so that will help out whoever is back there.

the safety position should be better than last year...even if it is davis who plays, no? i.e he has more experience and will be a bit more confident (put under alot of pressure last year)..but long term i am hoping watkins is the answer, a real free safety.

watkins definately has the the athletic ability and is almost "oversized" for the FS position, but really being 6'5 and 222 is a little slender but the size doesnt hurt.

people critisize his tackling ability, in his college career he recorded 205 tackles, thats impressive, IMO. the guy can tackle, if you watch any of his highlight tapes he gets low and squares up very nicely, he is no Roy Williams type of hitter but the man can make a tackle and deserves more respect than what he is getting in that industry. he wont be an immidiate impact, but like you said, "down the stretch" the big guy will become the starter. since hes a ballhawk he will free up Roy Williams, add a solid Pass Rush and you got a solid FS, now lets just see if he can produce like he did in college on the pro level. i see a lot of potential in the guy and he has a big upside, some will call you a homer for liking a 5th round draft pick like this, but look at his build, speed, vertical, stats etc.
