Just in case anyone would like to evaluate conference appearance droughts among all current NFL franchises as it relates to the OP: P = Non Conference Game Appearance, C = Conference Game Appearance, R = League Runner-up, T = League Champion

Sadly, 12 playoff appearances in the past 26 years isn’t very consistent either.
It is rather consistent for someone poor at their job. You are going to suck more than half the time if you are not skilled in your profession, and even the few times things do go right you never take advantage of those opportunities if you suck at your (self appointed) profession. The ability to build success or even cash in when luck throws you a bone just isn't there.

Panthers....Jake Delhorme

58 different teams have gone to the NFC CG since we last went.

58.

There's only 15 other teams in the NFC.

And I think the last time we went, there was only 13 other teams in the NFC.

That's pathetic, and borderline mathematically impossible. We figured out a way to do it though.
Outstanding post.
Blind luck or the law of averages doesn't even apply to this team.
Mindboggling.

Realistic View? 28 years of futility is your realistic view?

For the love of god that should be your unrealistic view. That should never ever be part of the conversation.

The Atlanta Falcons laugh at us - there's realism in all its glory.
I laugh at you. Being realistic is looking at the current team, not crying over results from 20 years ago. Enjoy the ride.

If this was true the Cowboys would have been to multiple Super Bowls. However, the Jonesboys have done nothing consecutively until last season (back to back 12 win seasons). It is not futility, it is inconsistency by a Dumbo GM and that GM being the defacto Head Coach.

No surprised! The Johnnie Walker Blue Boys have been mailing it in awhile. They kept Garrett 10 yrs. That has to go down as one of the dumbest moves on NFL history

How many teams have made a conference title game since we last did?

Slice it anyway you want, Dallas is on a historically bad postseason run since Jerry basically made himself GM and the Jimmy teams were dismantled.
There are 11 teams that have never won a super bowl. There are teams older than us that have never won and only made the CCG twice.

That was the point I was making about biasing. When you look at NFL history that is the historically bad. You simply restated what I was replying to in the first place and then it was narrative story time. Reads like bad talk radio.

Jerry sees the trophies he held up on the field gameday every time he walks into the office. This pettiness about who gets credit between two noted egomaniacs always seemed to miss the point to me.

for losers like you,maybe.
He pretty much has won more games in the past 2 years than anybody in the NFC and is a Super Bowl winner as well. 1 more Super Bowl win and he will have as many as Landry, Parcells, and Johnson.

Its telling when those like rockport and rambo are proud of just good enough to qualify and nothing more.
I'm convinced some of those guys have Jones blood in their veins
Trying desperately to protect their inheritance
It's the only plausible excuse for the nonsense.

Let’s not kid ourselves…Jerry is first and foremost a business man, then an NFL owner/general manager. So long as the Cowboys remain relevant, whether it is due to former glory, or being mired in mediocrity and consistently not meeting expectations, is all that Jerry cares about. There is no impetus to make any changes when the Cowboys consistently sellout home games, generate high television ratings and sell tons of merchandise…all of which line Jerry’s pockets with cash.
Jerry only experienced success when legitimate football guys like Johnson and Parcells were calling the shots, but stealing the limelight and recognition that we all know Jerry craves and will do anything to get it.

THIS^ is the man that says the buck stops with him. The head clown. THIS is the same man that lied to Jimmys face and the millions watching on live TV, stated Jimmy will be inducted int the ring. HE LIED.
Going to be fun if he puts Ware in the ROH this year. Everyone should ask him when's Jimmy going in?
