Troy Aikman doesn't have gaudy passing stats either. That was probably by choice.
.
With Dak....well...it's probably better for the cowboys if he threw only when necessary.

We’re complaining about the number 1 scoring offense in the league lol?

Literally had a dang near 4500 passing season last year, it’s not like we can’t throw. I don’t get it do we want balance or do we want stats?

Also, rarely do passing yardage leaders win the SB. It’s been proven to not be a sustainable winning strategy. The way we win now is much more reliable, you just need to make crucial plays in crucial moments; not pass for 400 yards.
This offense is soooo much better than last years offense. Teams pass for 300 yards all the time and get their butt kicked!!!!

Last years offense was smoke and mirrors because the O line was so overrated. Our run blocking and pass blocking was mediocre, at best, at the end of last year. This years teams run blocking is MUCH better and the pass blocking will hopefully improve with a healthy Tyron.

Yeah I'm gonna have to take meaningless stats for $500 there, Sally. No team with the running game working would abandon it and go pass happy. NOBODY... not Andy Reid, not Bill Belichick.
Soooo True!!!
Running the ball is a safer less risky way to move the ball down the field. It demoralizes the defense and it is a great weapon to have in the red zone.
I still believe though, in the philosophy of taking what the defense gives you. Sometimes though you need to have the ability, to pound the rock, when the D knows you are going to run it.

So what's your point? It was a week 6 game vrs a Pat's team that were 2-3. This is exactly the non-pressure game that Dak flourishes in. If Dak could do it in the play-offs or any must win game that would be something.
Im not calling Dak out, but it does appear something missing from his resume.

That was a close, national televised game, vs a Bill Belichick defense, and a playoff team. Exactly the type of game the OP claims Dak struggles in.

Here's the thing, and I'm far from a Dak fan. But I'm not sure this is a Dak thing. How many playoff games has he choked away? Or was the other team just better? Dallas won the only playoff game I thought they'd win, against Seattle at home. I didn't expect Dak to bridge the difference between us and a better team. Hell, Aaron Rodgers can't even do that, am I supposed to expect Dak to do it? I'm more inclined to believe we just don't have the better team. Ask Matt Stafford.

My point is that if you were given a hurry up offense in a crucial game, Dak wouldnt be the go to QB i'd trust with the ball.....and i'm certainly not a Dak-hater, but the discussion is our passing game, which in my opinion is fine.....so long as we play it risk averse off the run.

Here's the thing about Stafford actually did it when it mattered.

Again .....a WK6 game against a 2-3 side, dont dress it up as a championship deciding game. The problem is that the Dak question has so many polarized opinions when, as in life, the answer's somewhere in the middle.

Bunch of hypocrites, Coach! They complained the past 3 seasons how Dak lighting it up with the pass was only resulting in losses and only padding up his stats. Now that Dak has been reigned in and made to run & pass the ball more balanced offensively, which is resulting in wins, these same hypocrites are now complaining. They are just looking for anything to complain about Dak. We all can see it from a mile away. Sheesh.

Preach! :hammer::clap:

I love stats more than most and these lines are pure beauty:

Vs Vikes: 22-25, 276 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Vs Bears: 21-27, 250 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Rate of production per attempt is the most important stat. Few more passes in either of those games would have pushed us past 300 yards. Didn't need to.

Must concede: Dak has had a couple mediocre games this year.

Yep, I think the threat has the classic misleading title which has nothing to do with the meaningless number of yards stat.

To add, Dak is 4th in the NFL in EPA/play and 10th in air yards per attempt. We’re efficient and we’re taking shots down field when they’re there.

The passing game is efficient, just doesn’t have the volume to push for 300+ yards week in and week out.

Love the QB. Hate the QB. Blame the front office for letting COOP go. Praise them for it. Give credit to Quinn for getting the defense back into respectability. Focus on our inability to stopped getting gashed by RB's

Literally everyone has a point, and all of this is an exercise in futility, until we have post season success again.

We have the guys to get it done. From Dak to Zac, from Parsons to Wilson, and everyone in between. You want to know what it'll take? Yesterday I think a lot of us saw that old footage of Larry Allen chasing down Darion Conner. That's what it's going to take. It's going to take some of these guys wanting it so badly that they do things that seem to go beyond what we thought was possible. It's going to take individual moments of incredible greatness that create a momentum no other team can overcome.

We either write history, or we become a footnote in it.

. The bigger the game the more Dak seems to struggle? Just off the top of my head...Dak played well against Tom Brady the first game of last year but lost. First game, SNF, against the Defending SB Champs. Pretty big game that Dak only lost because, as you said, Tom just had the ball last
Dak actually lost that game by failing to convert in the redzone and having to kick field goals. The Cowboys got 4 turnovers and still lost. Dak played decent his first playoff game against GB and it just turned out Rodgers had the ball last. But don't forget that GB defense was ranked 31st against the pass.

9 wins plus we don’t have Mahomes, Allen, Brady, or Rodgers back there so if we have to have Dak pass for 300 to win….hard to consistently win that way. Rest assured that is what the playoff teams will try to do to us…stop our run and force Dak to throw it. Anyone that can stack the box and jam our WRs is going to give us trouble. One of the reasons I’m not completely opposed to the idea of Odell.
