I think you're confused about the difference in identifying actions and assessing motives. I identified your actions. You assessed my motives (twice now) when you used terms like "hoping to turn the narrative" and "trying to steer it back." I didn't use that kind of language with you.

Your narrative does try to steer it back in that direction. You then accuse me of going in circles.

You did use that exact type of language with me.

Bull****. I can think of Randle coming off LT and carrying the LB and nickel downfield with his leg drive and other instances. He also had the ability to shakepeople in the hole which Murray cannot do.

I'm not saying that Murray had no power but he is not a 'power runner.' He was not carrying piles. He was running through arm tackles, throwing a fabulous stiff arm and dealing with S and LB because our OL kept DL off him. If you want to see a top 'power runner' look up video of Lynch or Gurley.

Still don't agree with you about Randle. Like I said his game is not a power style running game. If thats the case why didn't he spell Murray more often? Why did the majority of his runs were to the outside? To think of Randle as a powerback is wishful thinking. He's not and won't be able to carry the load like Murray did last year.

Garrett called them dirty yards and he used that to describe Murray about 3-4 games last year. Murray turned tons of 1-2 yard contact plays into 3-4 yard gains last year. Murray has his holes but he was most definitely a power Back when he needed to be.

Sure but was he doing that by finding creases and falling forward or was he doing that by carrying guys. I say the former.

:lmao: I said he had better leg drive. I didn't say he was a power runner.

So whats your metrics for leg drive? Where's that video of Randle trucking someone?

What's your metric for trucking someone?

Now that we have our strawmen out of the way what would you like to talk about?

I'd like to talk about the rule that makes your spearing video a personal foul.

OK, let me try one more time to explain: "going" - an action, "hoping" & "trying" - motives. You got it?

Do you have a point in all this?

I got that I was talking about you steering something and then you coming back with the going in circles reference. You can try to wave your hands at the vowel choice but it is what it is.

Whats my metric for trucking someone? See Demarco Murray highlights.

Who cares about spearing videos. They were few and far between compared to Murray trucking someone for extra yardage.

As for Randle trucking someone....where is it?

I look at his highlights and see a bunch of runs were he isn't touched within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Stats say that Murray got around 1000 yards before he got touched. It also means he made 800 yards after he was touched. More than any runningback that season. Whats your point to this?

That he was dealing with S and the occasional LB as opposed to DL.

rule was,in at the time...not called, not a penalty

Still doesn't detract from the fact that only example used shows him using the helmet as a weapon. There is a reason why the rule is in place.

I'm looking for a guy that runs through and carries guys at the los when I think 'power runner'. Murray fell forward and didn't get driven back but there is a nuance lost on some it seems.

You guys are saying basically the same thing. Power runner or not, Murray ran hard and looked to deliver punishment at the ends of his runs. It was fun to watch. He's not the same kind of back as a Marshawn Lynch, though, which is what Fuzzy's basically saying.

As for Synjyn Days, apart from having a cool name, I think he's an interesting cat. He's got good balance, but runs with that weird loping style that makes him look sort of out of control. Listening to him interview, he's very respectful and sounds the part, at least, of a Cowboys player.

I don't think he's special enough to make it, though, but you never know. The more I listen to the coaching staff, despite what I'd like to see happen with this current group of backs, I think we're going to see a heavier dose of Dunbar via play calling that takes advantage of him in the screen game. And I think Randle and McFadden are going to be expected to get most of the touches. Williams, who I'd like to see really get the chance to compete, sounds like an afterthought every time Jerry or Jason talks about him. Which is a shame, because I'd disagree with the OP that we don't have a back on the roster capable of running with any power.

I can't help it. I really like the dude. Both how he runs (that cut to his right is pretty vicious, and he's capable of getting his pads low quickly for contact), and his attitude. He's a guy who brings an energy with him on the field and he's got his priorities completely straight off the field in the clips we've seen. And he's physically very gifted if his body could just hold up.

Yeah that Williams run is impressive. The S comes in low and tries to take out his legs. He lowers his shoulder and is able to keep stride and balance through the hit.

I'm not sure what to make of what they are saying about Williams. I am having difficulty reconciling the downplay and them not showing more interest in the position in the draft.

There will be a number of available RB's around June that we can get to fill in if needed.

Tre Mason or Oliver from SD could be available. The RB's available through cuts will be looked at I am sure.
