I think I like them all with the ball in their hands. I actually think that I prefer Tanner over Murray as a pure zone runner to be honest.

That said, I have little trust in either Tanner or Dunbar in pass protection.

Nothing against Randle and Tanner, but I've watched a lot of preseason games and most teams have 3rd or 4th RBs who come in and run hard and get a few yards. It's not that unusual. I think neither stand out from your average NFL backup RB. I'd keep randle on the 53 because of potential growth and upside. I like Tanner but we don't need 4RBs

And I like Randle, but I think we wasted a pick when we selected a RB in the 5th.

The running game might actually be a threat this year, assuming the starting OL and the combo of Murray/Dunbar can stay healthy.

Have you been watching Tanner at all this preseason? I think we have 4 backs who can contribute.

Not a big fan. He has flashes, but I would prefer the combo of Murray/Dunbar and hope Randle continues to develop.

This is my RB depth chart:

Murray
Tanner
Dunbar
Randle

I like what I see from all of them but if we don't get 20-30 carries a game called for them it won't matter.

Felix Jones played hurt allot the last 2 years so just about any healthy guy in his place is an upgrade but J.Jones and M.Barbar have been the best set in Dallas since 22.
That is so sad...

I like the flexibility of this group. I expect that each will contribute in some aspect over the course of the season.

I'm SUPER bummed about Dunbar's injury...he looked like the backup to Murray until this point....foot injuries can linger too ******all

As long as it is not a season-long injury I'm encouraged. I like his exposiveness.

You have four guys that have done between little and nothing in the NFL, honestly I don't know how you call that deep.

I think we have a solid running back group but like a poster above said, this group has done little to nothing in regards of NFL production.

All I know is finishing almost last inthe NFL in terms of rushing, Nowhere to go but up with this group...Atleast I would think.

You mean like break the single game rushing record for a Cowboys running back? Yes, I realize Murray has been injured often since then but give the guy a break. He's the second best RB in the NFL and as my sig points out, he is going to have himself quite a year.

I love a "healthy Murray" just the the next Cowboy fan and felt like he was a welcome relief when we put him inthe starting line up, but the main knock on him is that he can't stay healthy.

I love your attitude towards Murray but he's nowhere near the second best runningback inthe NFL.

Actually, he is. I'm sorry you don't see that yet. But also excited that you're about to.

While I wish you were right, I'm not sure he's even the second best RB in the NFC East. But hey, here's to optimism!

I like the backs Murray Dunbar and Randle. I am not a big Tanner fan and I don't see a reason to carry 4 RB's when we can carry an extra linemen or safety. Also there is something about Dunbar that I really like and he makes this offense lethal with his speed. If he can clean up his blocking he could become a complete back and that's not a slight against Murray. I just think Dunbars shifty style of play really fits the blocking and the other weapons on offense.

The more I think about it, the more I think we'll try to sneak one RB on the practice squad. Unless they're all playing ST, we don't need 4 running backs. I just don't think we could keep one on the PS. But it really makes no sense to keep 4.
