I'm all in favor of him being on the team but he has to go out and earn it. There are some young kids on the team like Blake Jarwin from OSU who was a good blocker. I'm not against Hanna but after 4 years with the Cowboys he has done little.

I agree for the most part....HOWEVER...as it is a BIG HOWEVER....what TE has and will do anything playing behind Jason Witten.
I understand what you are saying, but you have to factor in the Witten factor as to really know what TE's will do here.
Now Swaim was showing some of that with Dak last year until his injury.

Right now I would say Geoff Swaim. Don't get me wrong I am not anti Hanna but frankly he has done little during his 4 season in Dallas. I don't have big issues replacing a guy who is riding the pine. As for the young guys the Cowboys are bringing to camp I think they will be given the chance to show what they can do.

I don't see anyone getting overhyped.

The only tradable players are possibly Morris or DMC. No one that would get the Cowboys more than a 6th rounder at best.

Right, as trades don't happen often anymore for higher draft picks, except teams trading up or down on draft day. But late in TC's, you may see some 5th, 6th or 7th rounders being traded as players get injured and such.

I can see Morris, DMC, though unlikely there unless Thomas balls out. But I don't think they trust a rookie protection Dak on some plays.
If Hannah recovers ok and goes through the entire TC, maybe him if Rico is as touted. Or is he over-hyped.

By over-hyped, I also mean, players that we hear will do good things, and not solely from the coaches, but just players fans are hyping up as well.
Like Xavier Woods. Some think he will play like Woody. I myself see him as making the team and eventually playing well, however I can see him as a PS guy too.

Nor do you and I'm not the one making claims . You are giving an opinion and claiming it as a fact. Sorry your fact is just your opinion that is fine but don't pawn it as fact. I'm not against Switzer at all or even Whitehead, I expect guys to go out and earn jobs.
How do you know it isn't fact. That's your opinion......

How do you know it is? You make this claim based on what? it is your view and I ca respect that but it is not fact it is your view. The official word comes from the organization they have not said anything about who was won a job and who hasn't and likely will not until they start camp and work these guys out.

You are the one making claims of Switzer has already won the job, based on what?

And your making claims he hasn't......what's the difference. You have no clue if he is ahead of Lucky or not. Bet you anything you want the depth chart is made and you can't get it completely right (neither can i) so everybody is speculating until camp opens. Stop trying to make your OPINION correct when its just an opinion and not fact.

That may be the case but I'm not the one stating it as some fact. You did. Switzer very well could go out there and blow Lucky away, I never said he wouldn't all I did was respond to your claim and that claim is you opinion. I said Switzer would be competing for Lucky spot in my opinion you stated he already has and this is based on what? Clearly not a fact, no one within the organization who actually makes these calls have said anything of the sort.

Last offseason peeps were hyped up w Kevon Frazier. Now.......crickets. I don't even know if I spelled his name right but I guess it doesn't matter.

True and maybe this season he is ready, this is why they hold camp and players go through off season programs. This is not college any more and players have to go out and prove themselves

I'm pulling for him, believe me I am not anti switzer I am also not anti whitehead. I want Lucky to go out and bust his butt and same with Switzer. I want guys who make the team not because the other guy is not good but because your just better. 80 guys will go into camp I wish all of them the best and hope they go out and do a great job.

More common that you get a draft pick as opposed to an active player. Every team knows all others must go from 80 to 53 players and there will be prospects claimed as they are released.

Yes, it is true that we have received picks for players more frequently than a player for player trade, but the cuts are different this year so that could alter things a bit. We have one of the deeper rosters in the league and we can only keep 53. We, the rich, might just get a little bit richer.

If Switzer seems like the real thing in training camp I would look to trade Beasley. I feel his value is probably the highest now that it will ever get especially if he's going to split time with Switzer. I think there would be strong interest and maybe a 3 could be gotten in return or a decent DL, LB. I like Beasley but you need to trade value to get value.
dont see us getting much for the players you named (Hanna, Scandrick, Morris). I see nothing more than 7th ,conditional 6ths, or a player with the that value.

No way. Beasley/Switzer will be a great tandem when on the field together. Trading Beasley would be pointless. And would take away a threat on offense in the slot. Why would you want to do that? Switzer did not come here to take his spot but act as a compliment.

I agree. Who cares if his value is an all time high (so we must trade him because of that). His value to Dak and the offense is higher than what we'd get in return for him. Why would anyone want to take away one of Dak's favorite weapons.

Members of the all-hype team: Switzer, Swaim, Gathers, Tapper

* Switzer looks to be a winner, let's see with pads on
* Tapper? would be lovely, I could see him not making the 53
& TE's? please, they have done zero, can't beat out Hanna (remarkable) and Dallas will NEVER take Witten off of the field anyway

I would not be surprised if Hanna is gone, especially if he starts out slow or on PUP. If Rico shows he truly is ready though.
Hanna will be in his what 6th year, or 7th? and has not shown a lot in his very limited opportunities. He is 28, which should be in his prime. But with Witten ahead of him, no TE would be.
But he has not played a lot of meaningful games, and missed all of last year, TC and the season and this off season.

now of the few plays I remember he is not awful but have to wonder, is it time to move on. rico Gathers, Blake Jarwin, can they replace Hanna.

I am pulling for him, but would it be better to keep Rod Smith for that roster spot as well as he can be the 3rd RB. As I am tired of this using a TE as a FB type situation.
