It's the time of year we all go into TC with rose colored glasses for the most part. Yet realistic on some players and areas.
So who are the hyped up players that may or may not pan out, and who are possible trade bait types.
But there is nothing wrong with hyping up our own players, even though we know that some will not pan out.

We keep hearing about Rico Gathers, so do you truly believe he will be on the 53, and if he really shows he can play, will Hanna be up for a possible trade, and would other teams want him?

How about Morris, or even McFadden, would some team that has injuries be interested. Though I believe McFadden stays as the #2 RB regardless.
DL, supposedly there is a glut here and some hard choices to make. But is it really all that deep? Irving is suspended, as well as Gregory. But still after that how much depth is there.
Is Paea and Moore that good to be what we want. Carrell, Ivy, they are being hyped by some, but need to see it. I still be PS guys there. Tapper, need to see him also. so to me there are 6 DL that would be the locks...Crawford, Thornton, Mayowa, Collins, Lawrence, Charlton. But what if this guys do look great and we have 11 DL, which one could be traded, if any, other than the 6 plus Irving could be good enough to get a 6th or 7th rounder from.

LB's, well, with Wilson probably out for 6 games, we may be needing to trade for LB's.

DB's, if all pan out, there could be a few trade possibilities there, if they are as good as we hype them up to be. I doubt Scandrick is traded, we need some vet players still. But we would have Carroll and 2nd year player in Brown.

OL, we need all of them we can keep, and the top 9 we all know, and I doubt any others on the rosters aren't anymore than PS guys anyway.

I think in reality, we could have 3 to 4 tradable players if all goes well, but nothing higher than a 6th.
Players like Hanna, Scandrick, one of the DL and another DL or DB, or Morris, but doubt that too.

Who are your over hyped players and tradable players?

Dak is getting a ton of hype but he had a fantastic rookie season and is playing the most popular position on the most popular team.

Zeke is getting a lot but he's already soldified that at worst he's a top 3 back. At worst! I personally put him at #1

Can't think of any other Cowboys who are getting a ton of love from the media and if they are, it's proven groups like the OL.

I'm riding w/my pet cat Rico. Delusional maybe. So we carry 4 TE?
I did see us going long at DL also even 11 but with the the future of Wilson undecided maybe not 11 on DL
I dont see Brown leaving young, good and cheap.
Scandrick I have to see in TC. He's veteran and good.
Maybe lighting strikes twice in back to back drafts and we have rookie DB stars being born?

If Switzer seems like the real thing in training camp I would look to trade Beasley. I feel his value is probably the highest now that it will ever get especially if he's going to split time with Switzer. I think there would be strong interest and maybe a 3 could be gotten in return or a decent DL, LB. I like Beasley but you need to trade value to get value.
dont see us getting much for the players you named (Hanna, Scandrick, Morris). I see nothing more than 7th ,conditional 6ths, or a player with the that value.

Walker traded proved to me that any player is tradable at the right price. Having said that I don't expect any big offers for players at least not enough to make it worth while for the Cowboys.
Guys like Rico I think is worth getting them into pre season and see what he can do. He very well could be the real deal and would hate to lose him for nothing.

Point of switzer is not to be a Beasley replacement but in addition to and or placeholder in case of injury. Trading him would be counterproductive

really dont see a need for 2 slot receivers and his value will probably never be higher. If Switzer does impress in pre-season sitting him is also a waste. Why not have Switzer replace him and use Beasleys value for a need position. Who do u see with value that will get us anything?

If Switzer unseeds Lucky as both a Slot and return man then Switzer value to the team along with Beasley means a lot. Switzer will have to beat out Lucky Whitehead not Cole Beasley

I don't see a team offering more than a 5th round pick for Beasley, and I wouldn't trade him for that.

even if I could get a 3rd I still wouldn't. Cole was the leading WR on the team last season and he and Dak just seem to click. I would not risk losing that weapon for Dak. As I mention Switzer is competing for the most part with Whitehead for the role as a returner and as a slot man. Either Whitehead remains or Switzer takes the job but I think Cole is important for the Cowboys more so than a mid to late rd pick

Over hyped? Heath.

Tradable? Maybe Morris if a team is devastated by injuries. Wouldn't get much for him.

Someone mentioned trading Beasley. No need. New England has proven you can spread out and attack defenses with multiple midgets.

No need to trade for a LB, just sign Daryl Washington sooner than later.

I wouldn't trade Beasley since both are small and I'd be afraid of Switzer getting hurt which without a Beasley would instantly eliminate a big part of the offense, esp in regards to moving chains.

I'm pretty sure that the performances of those who were hyped previous to TC will reveal whether their hype was deserved or not. I'm hoping that the performances of those like Rico Gathers, Ryan Switzer, Maliek Collins, Charles Tapper and Taco Charlton will live up to their billing.

The same could and should be said for our newbie DBs like Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis, Xavier Woods and even the new and improved version of Jeff Heath. If they all shine, I'll be one happy camper (and then some.)

I'm hoping our guys like Hanna and Scandrick aren't cut or traded, but we'll see what gives when the time comes. I wouldn't be surprised if we attempt to trade Alfred Morris, perhaps for a LB to fill in for Wilson, in the event he's suspended.

Right - Hanna is tradeable. What sort of team trades for a guy who missed the entire year and still can't participate?

A far more likely scenario is Hanna not passing his TC physical and getting PUP'ed or cut outright.

Anyone know the last time we traded one of our players?
If you traded a main player like Beasley it would be detrimental to team moral. Never happen.
