Like for the first half your paragraph, but you lost me when you derided Al. He's one of the very best in the biz, along with Nantz

When we play the NYG Al Michaels is painful to listen to. JMO

That is fine ........ I reserve my dislike for his partner ....... I think certain people hear the crap Joe Buck spews and relate that to Aikman.
I'm not a fan of either of on commentary together. Oddly enough, I don't mind either by themselves.

The players sometimes. Not so much the overall team and especially not the organization.

I'm fine with him anyway. He's damn good at his job. And well, he is a Cowboy legend.
He's said publicly that he still resents the Jimmy/Jerry breakup since their quest for 3 SB (in a row) was on the line. Even worse Jimmy's immediate predecessor.
I think Troy still appreciates his teammates/coaches of those times but the FO (since it's still the same) is still stuck in his craw. All that, I think he's been one of the best of all people associated with the DC and I appreciated all he's done for the success of this franchise.

By the way, its not Joe Buck this weekend. Its Tom Brennaman. Buck must be doing baseball playoffs.

I cannot recall a game he's done this season where he hasn't questioned a call at least a couple of times. And on the replay, I agree with his assessment. I think he's done a great job of not playing homer and while he may have bent over early on in his career to prove that like his "lovin' all things Eagles" period, I think he does a terrific job.

I'm just afraid tha Gazoo Mike Pereira will taint Blandino with his rant after another close call that benefits the Cowboys. I'm furious about Gazoo's role in swaying the Dez decision. They need to get these former refs off of TV.

+1 for the Gazoo reference http://i636.***BLOCKED***/albums/uu87/jdjohnston1960/The_Great_Gazoo1.jpg

Pereira certainly is a "Dum-Dum".

For what it's worth, I live in the heart of Packer country and most Packer fans don't like Aikman because they feel he is anti Packer.

When everyone feels that's someone is against them specifically, that person must be doing a decent job being impartial. It does seem that Troy usually sides against the Cowboys more often than not when calling games.

What's the over/under of our fans claiming a league-wide conspiracy facilitated by refs to foil the Cowboys?

Aikman has an entirely different tone about the team when he is on his weekly morning show, on the ticket. He can be and is usually more positive. He will be critical when / if needed. But he is mostly positive and has good things to say.
You would almost think he is bi-polar or schizophrenic at times from hearing him in the booth. LOL.

Actually, Troy can be good in the both, but what I do not like is his going out of the way not to sound like a homer. and those penalty things is one of them.
I can't stand Bucky Joe, because of his condescending attitude at times.

However, if we go in and beat up on the cheese heads, I am curious how the tone will be.
But Bucky Joe will not be announcing, he is doing baseball. We will get the much better Thom Breneman.

And my bet is over the 2.5.

I don't even know how anyone honestly bothers to track these things.

I'll go under simply because I won't be paying enough attention to it to know how many times he does or doesn't do these things.

Perhaps this will help all of you who feel Aikman is being unfair.

LOL at the butthurtedness some of you have over announcers and color analysts.

Who cares?

Because it interferes with the enjoyment of the game.

Truly impartial and fair announcers become a complement to the game rather than the forefront, so you can focus on the action and enjoy some analysis here and there. Inflammatory and opinionated announcers make themselves the center of attention and you can't help but be aggravated by them.

Joe Buck is the worst offender of this. Most viewers want a plain and impartial play by play guy. Call the action, don't interject opinions. He constantly does the latter and makes himself the main attraction, and Aikman goes along with it.

Aikman rarely actually provides analysis anymore. It's rare to see him diagram a play or explain why something worked or didn't. He just provides opinions and feeds off Buck. They're the Fox News of Fox Sports. Their entire shtick is based on riling up fans regardless of team rather than providing an enjoyable experience.

Most fans are fine with the large personality analyst when he's coupled with a straight guy play by play. What made Summerall and Madden great was that Pat would allow John to be John and he just called the action in the most minimal way possible. Many don't like Phil Simms but that team is much easier to listen to because Nantz keeps it low key. Same with Tirico (now McDonough) and Gruden. Buck and Aikman are the lone duo that don't do that.
