Tell me the game plan. Is it a run heavy plan or is it like last year where they didn't even try? He will average between 4 and 5 yrds per carry. Now if he only gets 10 carries, then its below your number, if he gets 15 carries or more, it s above your number.

Lets set the over/under at his average per game from last season at 56 yards per game.

Over/Under 56 yards for Zeke vs the Bucs

Which one you taking?
Over. For the Cowboys to win I believe Zeke/Pollard have to gain 120+ yards. Run them off tackle away from those big boys in the middle for Tampa.

Zeke alone…. Under but close.

Not just because of the Bucs D, but Tom Brady will do things to force you to throw the ball. Dallas didn’t choose to stopping running last year week 1, Tom chose to take that from you.
Tom Brady doesn't play defense.

Zeke is usually a slow starter, he gets going around game 3 or 4. Biadasz has Vita Vea matched up against him, so running up the middle should be challenging.

Under

Actually, we came out with a passing game plan. If I remember correctly, the Bucs brought everyone back from the No. 1 run defense from the previous year, and Moore decided not to challenge it. We ran a total of 18 times, including four by the quarterback. That's choosing to not start running.

I'll take the over since we're supposed to be making a concerted effort to run the ball this year. 56 yards doesn't seem like a concerted effort.

We know you want the under to happen
With the oline being mixed up, the chances are high that Zeke will be under. Zeke looks to be in good shape though, so he may go over for a handful of games before he starts declining as the season goes on. For whatever reasons, usually injury, Zeke hits his peak early in the season and becomes very average.

I figure running won't be easy in this game with the Bucs who were a top 3 run defense last year in yards allowed and our oline having a few less pieces. However, I think 3.7 is enough to create a little more balanced of an attack and would be an improvement over last year.

Just giving a reasonably conservative estimate.

I think trying to feature the run game in a game like this is a waste of time. Sprinkle it in, but we need to pass the ball Personally I dont think much will work. Get the ball out quick to the edges in the pass game. Take our shots if and when we can. Thats about the only way we have a shot in this one.

Well your not getting to the outside with Zeke. Too slow. Tampa is the WRONG team to run on. Not going to happen. And our line and run game is about as bad as it gets.

Not about effort. its about effectiveness.

The strength of Smith and Steele is there run blocking. I believe the 12 personnel will be used. Zeke/Pollard will have 30 carries total.

I couldnt disagree more. When you run, you have to get a push up the middle of the line. Not seeing that with Biadasz and Mcgovern.

Their run defense is almost impossible to run against and our Oline is in shambles. Plus we feature and slow and predictable Zeke that can only run up the middle. This is a run disaster perfect storm.

There is nothing at all that points to a big run day.

-Bucs Run defense is tops in the NFL
-Cowboys Oline is in shambles
-Zeke is slow and predictable and needs big holes

Thats pretty much strike 3. Pollard wont find much room either. The Cowboys understood this last year, even with our Oline healthy at the time. Lets hope they dont kid themselves this year.

What do you think the plan will be? I can’t see Dak dropping back 40 times against Tampa’s defense. He might not make it out of game one alive.
