He's a feisty, speed merchant with high FB IQ. He also finishes. We need a thug yo front to pair with him. To keep him clean. Mazi is starting to show glimmers of that. We need more.

Damone Clark-LB
6-3240243

Marist Liufau-LB
6-223923R

The linebackers group looks strong now, with Parsons, and Overshown.

Chauncey Golston-DE
6-5268264

Marshawn Kneeland-DE
6-326823R

DeMarcus Lawrence-DE
6-32653211

Sam Williams-DE
6-4261253

The defensive ends already are looking pretty strong for next season.

Osa Odighizuwa-DT
6-2280264

Mazi Smith-DT
6-3337232

This is the weakest positional group...
Clark is terrible. Replaceable. He's here for depth, nothing more. I like Buddy Johnson much more.

Our DT’s are bad but the quality at DT in this draft isn’t impressive to me. And Michigan players scare me. We’ve had some bad misses drafting Michigan players

I went back and watched some highlights of Devonte Holloman earlier and man they play identical. I always felt like we were robbed of Holloman due to his unfortunate injury, but O is definitely gonna be the guy I thought Holloman was gonna be.

Man he might look good in a 3-4 with more pass rushing…..same way Micah did when he first got here, each coming off opposite ends. Overshown is explosive and plays with his hair on fire…..baller.
Bill Belichick has something to work with.

There actually is free agency.

We know that but do you honestly think Jerry is spending on any significant FA? I’m a realist and we may sign a few of our own but any others will be players no one else wanted so we can get them cheap. The draft IS our only hope of improving

Linebacker is a position to invest in the top two rounds in the next draft. I would do LB and CB, projecting right now.
CB NO NOPE Diggs, bland, Lewis, butler ,carson, and on and on.. need NEED way too many others ..even DB if you wanted change from hook and DONO ww have Bell , MUK, and Thomas but their injuries and rehab time maybe a Safety..

But this team need a Pass rusher to take tanks place we have depth ie Gholston , sam coming back and Kneeland but A. Carter type ie MP clone, RB, DT , and WR all bigger needs than a true LB i Liafu can develop with Overshown and a Corner.

round 1-3 must get a Pass rusher, and RB, and DT IMHO how they go past that id say WR next ,

I expect situational veteran investment which if paired with a trashcan investment could in the draft could work. Depth and injury remaining.

To the point, someone in organization needs balls to solve a problem lingering. That or dumb still replaces leadership.

If we would just go sign a stud DT it could be so huge. One position. But DT is hard to draft so if I could only get one real FA I’d go DT. Then draft well while keeping a few of our guys like dowdle but still draft a RB. One stud FA could make a world of difference

And he gave up contain on a TD. Dude makes more plays but he is near as inconsistent in his reads as Mazi.

Youth further at linebacker and one more top cornerback will manage both talent at top and cap. Strong cap projecting then, like in old.

Defensive end should be very strong here shortly and into next year.

1:30 p.m. - The Cowboys may be getting another key contributor to their defense back, as Pro-Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence appears to be nearing a return.

"We'll get [DeMarcus] Lawrence back against Cincinnati more than likely." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier today on 105.3 The Fan.

Lawrence last played in Dallas' Week 4 victory over the New York Giants, and was able to generate three sacks through the first four games of the season. It'd be a welcome addition to the Cowboys pass rush that tallied six sacks on Thursday against the Giants.

The two biggest areas were on the box area on defense and red zone on offense.

Beyond best player available in the draft, retaining WR Cook or signing a very strong free agent DT are most important here and now for Dallas.
