Overton being overlooked?

Brother there's no need to start off like that. There's about 20 here that I totally respect because you all are fair minded fans, with no agenda other than you all want to win.

Ranching, after the loss to the Ravens spoke his mind. One said something like "Find another team" "Hater" like they say Rockport always does to fans who complain all the time. It's stupid that they can't see the difference in the criticism from you and Ranching, and from others here who NEVER have a good thing to say about our team, even after a win.

I wish you, Ranching and those other fair-minded fans would speak up because it's more believable, imo. We (fair-minded fans) know the difference between your criticism and the criticism from those lunatics who hang out under the bridge here who stay quiet after a win but come out in full force when we lose.

Now to your thoughts here. I think we're showing some improvement. Parker is new to this; he's working with new players, and several are rookies too, and some of those players never played in the type of scheme Parker is running. I'm only a coach coach/GM, but I think D is starting to show signs of life. I think you said in another thread that we only need to be around 20th in league. I agree and that's very reasonable to think we can get to that. Long as our offense keeps us in games until the defense gets to that ranking, we have a shot.
The sad part is the bridge people are a very small number. They're simply loud, when they and Rocky's crowd start spewing nonsense it just gets stupid, especially when they start including your fair-minded fans in their BS.

Hope you're right. We have several winnable games coming up.

My hope is that we lock in on these 'bad teams' and start to gel by the time we play teams like the 49ers.

Go Cowboys!
When you look around the league, who’s really playing perfect football—who’s put together a complete game against a quality opponent in all three phases without mistakes in coaching or from the big-name players brought in during a big offseason? A lot of teams still haven’t figured it out yet. We all know there’s a lot of work to be done, especially on defense and some special teams. I’m not sure if it will all come together, but you’ve got to make progress when you get the chance, and that starts tonight.

As for Christian Parker, he needs to adjust more, don’t turn into Matt Eberflus.
.
Work with what you have, even if it’s not ideal, and go into some games with a Brian Flores-style aggressive mindset. You don’t have to send the house all the time, but mix it in. Create more opportunities for guys like Caleb Downs to rush the passer, stop bringing him in nickel, stop having him cover so much, put Bland in the slot some more. He’s a safety, and right now he’s a better downhill box safety as a rookie until he gets more acclimated to the NFL.

I’m not defending Parker in the way you might think; I’m just saying he needs time, and there are reasons this isn’t working right now that go beyond scheme and coaching. Thinking outside the box, and acknowledging I could be wrong since I’m not a coach or NFL professional, if I were Christian Parker, I’d give fewer snaps to the young guys. Eazy E and Lawrence should play less because they clearly aren’t getting it yet, they might someday, but right now is right now.

IMHO, we need more snaps from Von Miller to see if it’s him or not, more from James Houston, and I’d immediately make Overshown the starting outside linebacker opposite Gary.

When you have all three of your top starters, Winters, Barham, and Overshown, on the field at the same time, it’s still a work in progress.

It’s a mix of everything right now, with everyone figuring out how to handle the injuries and new players, and yes, the coaches need to come up with better plans.

Just to close on this point, here’s why I argue with common sense: everyone knows the Cowboys can throw on them, which is why they weren’t running the ball much in the first two or three games unless they had to. Opponents know what’s coming, but they can’t stop it. If the defense and special teams had provided more possessions, the Cowboys would have kept scoring and beaten the Giants easily with another possession or two. They couldn’t stop us in the second half, just like in the last game when we scored four touchdowns in the 2nd half, we scored on our only two possessions in the second half against NY, or maybe two out of three, so we just need more chances with the ball.

Think about it,

everyone knows the Cowboys are going to do it, yet they can’t stop it. Just like the old Cowboys with Emmitt Smith and the run game, they knew it was coming but still couldn’t prevent it.

That shows me all teams have flaws and struggle to stop others’ strengths. The better ones will figure it out, and I hope Christian Parker does too.

Hopefully, the defense starts figuring it out over these next few games. We've got a few winnable games in a row to dial in on. Plus, we'll start getting some of these injured players back soon.

That LT is messing with my head with him being a D-lineman lol.

But he has flashed for sure.
