I did a thread months ago, saying "will the Cowboys pay TO the $3 Million roster bonus". But now I can't remember when that is due. I think early March it said.
Basically, if the Cowboys pay him that i'd say it is 99% sure he stays at least another year. Otherwise, it would be pretty obvious he is released or traded prior to that $3 Million roster bonus.
We'll probably know within 3-4 weeks. The thing is, I think the Cowboys would have preferred to see how the draft shook out (in terms of young WR's to them) before deciding whether to cut and run with TO.
This is an interesting thing. The Cowboys are at a true identity cross-roads here. It truly might be the case of taking a step back to move forward, because there is no denying TO's on-field benefit for the most part. It's the intangible stuff that will either offset his loss, or benefit the rest of the team slowly down the road.
Tough one for Jerry. But then he loves being in the limelight and he knew this would come up at some point. He's not dumb, no matter what some people say. Jerry knows the risks, he just likes being in there and taking them.
