Owens officially practicing this afternoon *Updated*

I wonder why there is no story on Smith missing 3 wks and there is for TO missing 2 wks. Hmmmm.

There is a reason the sticky wheel gets the grease.

Having said that I'll go back into TO defensive mode and pray he keeps his mouth shut and does his job.

It also helps that Steve Smith went down in a publicized heap with television cameras present.

T.O. really blew an opportunity to get even more attention when he chose to fake this. He really needs to sharpen up.

Thank you for allowing Bill to win, TO. Any longer and this would have become a problem. Props to TO for sucking it up, now let's get on with the season and win the Super Bowl! :wink2:

Gee this sounds like a perfect thread for folks to start discussing a potential trade for Brandon Gorin.

Post of the year!!!

I'm not sure he's sucking anything up, here.

Seems to me like he waited until he felt better and came back at his own pace. I don't really see that as a problem, however, I don't think this is necessarily an example of 'taking one for the team,' either.

working, EMMITTnROY, you know that thing that man named Owens doesn't do. :)

Good to see you posting; I've been in the wrong threads too. Owens, of course is not a man, he's a beast. THE Beast.

I can understand why the Boys were worried about TO getting back, but what's the deal with the media and this board? The media acted as if they were going to die if TO didn't get back to practice.

Yeah, but Romo was 21-for-21. (And he avoided a sack on all 21 plays. And Owens dropped three of them, but the passes were SO perfectly thrown that Owens caught them on the rebound.)
:laugh2:

Good to hear. Now ESPN can get off of T.O.'s back and everyone on this message board can relax...

Uh oh...

I am getting a vision...

Tomorrow on ESPN....

Sean: I mean, what is Owen's thinking? His hamstring is not 100% and he is not ready to return to practice. He is purposesly trying to injure himself just so that he can sit on the bench and collect another fat check for not playing like he did in Philadelphia. He is a disruptive locker room cancer that cares only of himself. Soon or later, this cat and mouse game between he and Parcells is going to errupt in Dallas and I will be here to break the news.
:lmao:

Is PTI live??? Because Ed Werder is making no mention of TO being back at practice... Still talking like he's sitting out.

Werder again making a big deal of BP referring to TO as "the player."

Your first mistake was taking Ed Werder seriosuly

I have a feeling ESPN's going to wait as long as possible to bring out this news... Which I find ironic, as they didn't wait to confirm that TO was going to miss THE ENTIRE PRESEASON!!! What a joke:lmao:

I really don't think PTI is live.

I saw the announcement that TO was practicing on ESPNews. So.. they know by now.

He's practicing. Confirmed on 103.3 espn on the update.

I'm not doubting he's practicing, I just think ESPN isn't reporting because then they may have to stop reporting TO stories... or at least they'd have to actually work to do it.

They have a picture up on Cowboys.com. I wish I could get an evening practice report before I go home. NFL Total Access may not have anything this evening since practice started so late. What do you guys think?

T.O. practices with Cowboys for first time since Aug. 2
Associated Press

OXNARD, Calif. -- Terrell Owens finally got back on the field Wednesday with the Dallas Cowboys after missing 14 straight practices because of a hamstring problem.

As has been customary throughout camp, Owens was the last player on the field for the only practice of the day. Except this time, the receiver was wearing pads and joined the rest of the team. He did go to the stationary bicycle on the sideline, where he's spent the last two weeks, but this time just for a quick warmup.

It was his first practice since Aug. 2.

With his return to practice, the stage could be set for Owens to play his first game for the Cowboys in their next exhibition game. That is a nationally televised game -- and a chance for Owens to be in the spotlight -- Monday night against the New Orleans Saints.

During his daily briefing with reporters earlier Wednesday, Bill Parcells said he didn't know when Owens would practice. But the coach wouldn't say if Owens would play against the Saints even if he returned to the field.

"That doesn't mean he would play," Parcells said. "He has missed a lot of time. It wouldn't be so much whether he practiced or not, as to how he looked, how much he practiced and did he get enough practice to make a good judgment about playing him."

Based on how Owens was running around the previous two days, he should be OK.

While the Cowboys went through two practices Tuesday, Owens did rehabilitation work. He rode the stationary bike before doing stretching and running exercises. He ran routes, making hard cuts without any apparent discomfort, and did some 100-yard sprints at full speed.

Owens didn't talk to reporters after either session Tuesday, but indicated Monday after a similar workout that it was "definitely an improvement from last week. ... It's all encouraging signs." He missed the preseason opener at Seattle last weekend.

Owens first felt a twinge in his hamstring Aug. 2, but an MRI taken three days later was clear. Owens flew in several doctors and trainers, plus a hyperbaric chamber, because he still didn't feel right.

Parcells reiterated Wednesday that Owens needed to get back on the field, but said perceptions that he was angry at the receiver were wrong.

"Can you get a little frustrated from time to time? Yeah," Parcells said. "But that's all. We'll see. Things will work out. ... I don't want to jeopardize the early part of the season by making a mistake here. I really don't."

DMN is reporting he even had a catch!

Hallelelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah

Now do you think ESPN can STOP TALKING ABOUT IT?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

Geez.

Well at the end of PTI they mentioned TO was practicing, I guess they are live, or close to live... Werder made up for it by reporting on ESPN that TO was practicing, then quickly said, "In typical TO fashion, he was the last person out of the locker room." I swear, they don't hesitate to make any information, no matter how unimportant a big issue. I don't know why it surprises me anymore.
