Ball is dead with his possession. If he just tips the ball then he doesn't possess it and the play is still live.

It's just a judgement call, but I think the majority of people would agree that the Cardinals player never had possession of that football.

It's unbelievable how lucky Green Bay is. There is ZERO chance that we get some of those same plays go our way when we play Philadelphia. Eagles fumble a simple hand off. Then snap it over the Qbs head and GB just scoops it up and walks to the end zone

My question is how is it considered possession if he is in the air? Possession is supposed to equal two feet on the ground and control just like a reception or a fumble recovery.

For a second, sanchez thought he was Romo and could pick up an errant snap and make a play out of it. Hahahaha! suck eagles suck!

The good luck Philly has had this season has reversed itself today.

can anyone explain the logic behind a team being able to advance a muffed punt and never lose possesion even if the returner fumbles it later on in the return?

For that call to make sense, they have to be saying that he could have thrown it out the back of the end zone, or spiked it in celebration as he was falling down. And it would be marked at the one because it was dead when he took possession.
