Peckers going to the playoffs with that bunch of scrubs???

Me dont think so.

Farve is way past his prime and real popular among his receivers after whinning like a baby all offseason for his boy Moss.

How anybody can compare our roster to theirs and come to the conclusion they are going to the playoffs and we are not is just ********.

Well We will find out who is the better team come the last thursday of november.

I am already hoping the place is not filled with packer fans. I really hope that is not the case.

every year there is one game that out of town fans pour in for.

03 it was philly
04 it was pittsburgh
05 it was kansas city
06 it was new orleans
07 I imagine it will be green bay.

My, what objective, insightful analysis

The only way this line of thinking would have ant merit would be if a first year coach had NEVER had success in the NFL, which is simply false. Jon Gruden in Tampa? Bill Callahan in Oakland? Hell, Barry Switzer, a fairly average NFL coach, almost won it all his first season.

A team's ultimate destiny lies with the players who are payed to make plays on the field. Dallas has more talent this year than they have had in a decade. We have one of, if not the deepest front 7 in all of football, the best cover corner in the NFL, and a safety who should thrive in our new system.

I look at the Dallas roster and, outside of a true every down back, I don't see a single need on this team that absolutely MUST be addressed if we are to win anything of substance. We have enough pieces to make a strong push in the NFC, regardless of the coach.

Green Bay Packers

Look for the Green Bay Packers to return to the NFC playoffs for the first time since 2004. Under second-year head coach Mike McCarthy, the Packers are coming off a four-game winning streak to end the 2006 season. Brett Favre has returned to lead an offense that has a solid line and Pro Bowl receiver Donald Driver.

The Packers' defense made big improvement over the second half of last season, and GM Ted Thompson bolstered the line by selecting DT Justin Harrell with the team's top pick in the recent NFL draft.

Everyone knows you can't go to a strip club without your entourage of armed thugs.

Oh, did I say thugs? I meant less than reputable individuals.

Pat Kirwin did an article on nfl.com a few weeks back that actually looked at the late season surge and found that it actually had a worse effect on next seasons record than a late season collapse so by his arguement we are going back to the playoffs and GB will go 6-10.

UNLUCKY.

That's a pretty interesting trend. It makes sense, that teams who are able to compensate somehow for some problem have not got rid of it, only masked it for a time. It's not like Philly can stop the run or Green Bay got capable running backs - their players just stepped it up at the right time. They still lack the talent that put them in the situation they were in in the first place.

Nope.

They improved under then 'new' coach McCarthy last year.

As did both the Saints and Jets.

I guess you enjoy being wrong, you're so good at it.

Keep up the 'good' work!

Hardly. I was legitimately asking you the question....

I thought you were implying the Packers got a new head coach this year. I thought I had missed something in the news (though I can't imagine the Packers getting rid of McCarthy after one year).

But thanks for at least answering the question.

I enjoyed the last couple of sentences of the Kirwin's article:

"A Green Bay Packers player told me his team's 4-0 finish was really going to help for the 2007 season. I told him to be really careful with that kind of thinking."

Maybe, the Packers' player should have passed the advice on to Korth.

The Packers have had all offseason to forget how they got that winning streak. Some reports indicate Favre's shoulder is still sore.

Green Bay was 4-8 when they started that run: maybe with the pressure off, they didn't have as much trouble executing. And how about those teams they beat (records coming into the game):
  • San Francisco (5-7)
  • Detroit (2-13)
  • Minnesota (6-8)
  • Chicago (13-2)
Of all those, only Chicago was legit, and they were resting people with home-field sewn up (Griese was QB).

It's always touching for the media to hope Opie goes out on an upswing.

Somebody needs to remind Todd that his Green Bay Packers stink. The only reason the team didn't finish 5-11 is the fact they play in the NFL's weakest division. I wouldn't pick this team to beat anybody in the NFC East.
