If he doesn't have the talent to play in the NFL, what the heck was he doing out on the field when there were healthy alternatives sitting on the bench?
Carrol had the highest percentage of deep passes thrown against him of any cornerback and tied for second in the number of deep passes allowed. Carrol also allowed nearly 2/3 of those passes to be successful, which is probably why teams kept throwing at him vertically.

So he didn't get picked on very much and didn't get beaten often, he just got beaten for some big plays occasionally (seven "deep" completions, according to Joyner). But Joyner also said he allowed only three TD passes.
SkinsandTerps;1068400 said:He didnt get picked on because that team was losing probably most games going into the half.
AdamJT13;1068421 said:No, I mean that when the opponents did throw the ball last season, a low percentage of them were thrown at Carroll's man -- about 16.5 percent, using Joyner's numbers. (For comparison, Shawn Springs was thrown at about 18.7 percent of the time when he was on the field. And DeAngelo Hall was thrown at about 23.2 percent of the time, one of the highest rates in the league.) And a low percentage of those passes thrown at Carroll were successful.
