His forward progress was stopped...or it could be argued it was. He was still fighting, and if the hit hadn't come, it's possible he breaks free or begins to get a push since he was only engaged with one person and wasn't losing ground. However, he wasn't going forward for several steps.
And people who think it's OK then to come in and lower your head and go helmet-to-helmet in that situation do not know the rules. Trevanthan had like 3 steps to change his target. He looked in then lowered his helmet and went right to the head.
He better not make any plans for this game check because a huge fine is coming.
