Pacman a Cowboy! ***Mega Merge***

I'll wait to pass judgement until we see how much he signs for. I have a wierd feeling this is gonna work out ok.....he knows this is his last shot.......although his brain is the size of a cashew.

What the hell, Jerry is an idiot for paying that much.

The Titans basically got exactly what they wanted. We went from a 7th, to a 6th and a player to a 4th and a conditional. They barely budged on a player they wanted to get rid of, and we bent over backwards to give them what they wanted.

Fantastic.

Pac hasn't played football in a year, if you guys are expecting him to pick up where he left off, you've got another thing coming.
I think that's how you start negotiations, you start as low as you can go, and work from there.

Damn!

Definitely dissappointed in this trade for a 4th!!

Wow... JJones better know what he is doing in terms of Pacman being reinstated with all this new crap about extortion, etc.

I still can't believe we gave up a fourth rounder for him.

Jerry better make sure Pacman's contract demands are low and clauses up the wazoo!

You know, Jerry is shrewd like that. :laugh2:

I hope jerry doesn't give in this easy to barber and his contract demands

Considering the Titans had no leverage, it's amazing how we were the ones that ended up giving so much ground.

I like the idea of the insurance pick next year. I think it's almost a certainty that Dallas is going to trade back with one of their 1st round picks, and that 4th will be easily recouped.

In my eyes, we get 2 players and 1 knuckle head for a 4th. A Corner and a Punt returner. Now if we can just keep the knuckle head out of it, we did fine.

I forsee ultimate flexibility in the draft now.

As in, if Jerruh wants McFadden, Jerry can now go and get McFadden.

Jerruh....you got me hook, line, and sinker........ I'm buying all the way. Way to make it happen!

No matter what Jerry or anyone in the Cowboys organization says I think they got this deal done so they could have flexibility to do what ever they want in the draft.

Kenny Phillips may be the pick now if hes there.

Exactly what I was just about to post.

That 28 is definitely going to be traded.

Whoever has a McFadden sig... might want to take it off now.

No way the Boys will be going for him now imo.

As long as it's contingent upon reinstatement, I'm all for it. When you think about it, a 4th isn't bad for a guy who could instantly become our top punt returner, not to mention what he can do in the secondary once he gets back into football shape. I'd say a 4th is fair for what he can bring to the table talentwise. As far as off the field antics, we can always cut him if need be.

to be fair though. the way it's structured, the only risk is to the dallas franchise. because if he doesn't play they lose a little value, assume a 4th in 2009, but really not much. and if he plays, i'd find it hard to believe he doesn't play very well.

wonder what the future incentive is

Isaiah Stanback. Doug Free. Skyler Green. Barber. Canty. Bruce Thornton. Bradie James. Jamar Martin. Markus Steele.

Out of every 4th rd pick we've had since 2002, only barber is in Pacman's league talent wise.

A 4th is a steal if he has his act together. If not, we get an insurance pick and you can pretend we drafted skyler green instead.

I just heard it again, they said nothing about a conditional. They said a 4th rounder, with clauses attached on playing time and reinstatement? How does that work?

I see your point... but no decision has been made on Pacman yet. How is that giving the Boys flexibility?

Not to mention what another poster already stated that he hasn't played in a year. He is going to be rusty regardless.

A 4th was WAY too much to give especially with how deep this year's draft is.

No one even knows where negotiations started so to say that Jerry caved or whatever is unwarranted.

All there was to go off of was a bunch of reports from people out of the loop and even if they had some sort of insider info, why would either side disclose what they were REALLY asking?

Nobody knows where negotiations started. Last week it was a 3rd and a 5th, two weeks before it was a 6th. No one knows.
