Titans cornerback Pacman Jones set off a melee that led to a triple shooting outside a Las Vegas strip club Monday, the club's co-owner said, based on accounts he said he had from eyewitnesses. He said the melee broke out when Jones began throwing money into the air around strippers. When a security guard grabbed Jones, the player's entourage jumped in. A woman with Jones then hit the guard over the head with a champagne bottle and Jones attacked the guard.

I was listening to the radio late last night and the host had the co-owner of that strip club on. The Co-Owner adds that Jones bit the security guard(mike tyson style) on the leg I think and before he got kicked out told the guard "you know what, im gonna kill you." They came back later and shot the security guard and another guy (who is now paralyzed from the waist down i believe). This guy pisses me off so much. He has a history of violence and should not be in the NFL.

if i was a well known football player i wouldn't even go to a stripclub. these guys can hook up with better/cleaner girls than the @#$@# in the stripclub. it just doesn't make sense to me

One of the new strippers started picking up the money (not certain why you would think she wouldn't) and Jones got angry. According to the report, Jones punched the stripper, banged her head against the stage etc. This is when the bouncer stepped in. Apparently, Jones bit the bouncer on his leg and actually took a chunk out. Jones was heard to say that he was going to kill the bouncers. The club was cleared and somehow, one of the members in Jones' party produced a gun, shot one of the bouncers in the chest and another of the bouncers was shot in the spin (?) crippling the man. According to the Club, they have all of this on video.

It should be considered a privilege to play professional sports, and when you do these type of things, you can't play anymore. Period.

 

[Reality]

While listening to this on ESPN radio last night, I heard the following:

Jones threw hundreds of $1 bills in the air near the strippers. One of the strippers who was picking up money was not one that Jones wanted to pick it up. Jones then grabbed the stripper by her hair and slammed her face into the stage. At that time, the security guard (who was proficient in martial arts) made Jones stop (not sure what he did). During the process, the stitches in Jones' shoulder which had recently been operated on broke/separated/whatever and that is the point where Jones said, "I'm going to kill you."

The security guards got Jones and his people out of the building. One of the bodyguards with Jones then pulled out a gun and shot it several times toward the front door hitting three people which severed the spine in one of the victims causing them to be permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

Jones is not accused of shooting the gun, but he claims he does not know who fired the shots and the owner claims he is lying.

According to Brian McGovern of Sirius radio's NFL channel this situation is real bad for Jones. The strip club owner says he has video of Jones slamming a strippers head into the stage. He also claims that Jones punched the same stripper in the face and bit the bouncer that tried to subdue him. Jones told the bouncers that he would kill them. When the fight spilled out of the club one of Jones' posse shot the two bouncers and another female. One of the bouncers had his spine severed by a bullet and is paralyzed from the waist down for life. I could see attempted murder charges coming with this incident. Jones started the fight and pretty much ordered the shooting. Jones claims not to know the shooter even though he arrived and sat with the man all night.
