of course only the bodyguard who fired the shot is going to get convicted of anything, not PacMan, although he was the instigator in all of this

why on Earth would anyone fire a gun when he's the only one in possession of one? the guy probably isn't a real bodyguard, just one of PacMan Jone's hood-rat friends

I am no fan of Pacman Jones but keep in mind, this is the statement from the Club Owner. I think it is prudent to see what the video reflects prior to stringing him up. However, if this report proves to be factual, I will be amoung the very first to echo your sentiments.

PacMan played at WVU and was a problem then, just not this big of a problem.

One thing I liked about him though was when he stood up to Winslow.

We were playing Miami in Morgantown and PacMan had been matched up with Winslow most of the game.

After Jones broke up yet another pass, Winslow was frustrated and punched him in the facemask, .. immediately PacMan jumped up and punched him right in the mouth, hard.

We loved it. The crowd went crazy. Winslow tucked his tail and went back to the huddle.

Police: Pacman's cash display sparked Vegas melee

ESPN.com news services

LAS VEGAS -- Police seized $81,020 in cash belonging to Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, which they said sparked a melee and a triple shooting at a strip club over the weekend, court documents show.

Jones

Jones was showering more than 40 strippers onstage at Minxx Gentlemen's Club & Lounge early Monday with the cash "intended as a visual effect," according to a search warrant. But a scuffle broke out when the Houston promoter who hired the strippers told them to pick the money up.

The promoter, identified as Chris Mitchell, owner of "Harlem Knights," and a male associate took a plastic trash bag containing Jones' money and walked out the front door, the warrant says. Police recovered the money and two Breitling watches inside a safe at Mitchell's hotel room Monday morning.

Mitchell, according to the warrant, "admits that he took the money in the bag belonging to Jones because he thought it was for the dancers."

After Mitchell left the club, "a melee broke out," the warrant says.

"Jones became irate about the loss of his money, and the fact that girls were in a frenzy, picking up the money at their feet," the warrant says.

Later, a woman identified as a member of Jones' group fought with one of the strippers and security tried to break up the fight, it says. Jones told the guards to back off and reached behind his back "as if he were retrieving a weapon there."

Jones' entourage was moved outside, but the woman continued to fight, according to the warrant filed Wednesday in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas.

The woman hit a guard in the head with a champagne bottle and "began biting and screaming" when other guards tried to restrain her, the warrant says.

Minutes later, a valet told police that he heard shots fired near the front entrance and saw a black man with cornrows in his hair pointing a black semi-automatic handgun, it says. The man then fled.

The shots hit a female customer in the head and two security guards, one of whom remained in critical condition and is going to be paralyzed for life, club co-owner Robert Susnar told The Tennessean. Aaron Cudworth, the guard hit with the champagne bottle, and the woman were treated and released.

Police have described the suspected shooter as last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. As of Thursday morning, police said he was still at large.

Jones' lawyer, Worrick Robinson, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Jones, who was in Las Vegas attending NBA All-Star Weekend, did not know anyone involved in the shooting and was interviewed by local authorities as a witness, not as a suspect. Police have not said Jones is a person of interest in the case.

Robinson could not be immediately reached for comment Thursday.

Jones has faced criminal charges three times since the Titans made the former West Virginia University player the sixth overall pick in the 2005 draft -- all involving incidents at nightclubs in Tennessee.

The cornerback promised he had seen the inside of a courtroom for the last time Feb. 1, when a judge dismissed an assault charge filed by a woman who claimed Jones spit on her during an October nightclub altercation.

Charges in a confrontation with a club manager during a private party in July 2005 also have been dismissed.

Jones was ordered to stay out of trouble until July 5 if he wants his criminal record cleared of public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges for an August arrest in the Nashville suburb of Murfreesboro.

Robinson has said he didn't think the Las Vegas incident violated the judge's order.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

I'd heard the shooting took place later- like 20 minutes after Pac and his posse left. Not that there's any doubt it was one of Pac's people that came back and did it. I guess the thing started because one of the strippers didn't know the "rain" routine Pac likes to play and was picking up some of the money. Not sure how else she was supposed to get it. What a clown.

Titans cornerback Pacman Jones set off a melee that led to a triple shooting outside a Las Vegas strip club Monday, the club's co-owner said, based on accounts he said he had from eyewitnesses. He said the melee broke out when Jones began throwing money into the air around strippers. When a security guard grabbed Jones, the player's entourage jumped in. A woman with Jones then hit the guard over the head with a champagne bottle and Jones attacked the guard.

a spoiled player re-enacting scenes from a popular rap video (Fat Joe's "Make It Rain" or Jim Jones "Ballin (Remix)")? no surprise here

Well when the shooting actually occurred is up to the courts but I seriously doubt that Pacman gets out of this one. I've heard people say how he will probably not do time and "his boy" will take the rap but I think we are underestimating the judicial system and egos of prosecutors.

Key Points

1) Pacman started the melee by throwing "81K in ones" on the dance floor. Although the strippers didnt know not to grab the money (reports say that their manager ordered them to grab the money) Pacman is on video assaulting the women and security guards. Charge? Inciting a riot

2) Pacman was heard by eyewitnesses telling the security guard "I am going to kill you!" Then a member of his group shoot the same guy he yells these words to. To order a hit is just the same as actually pulling the trigger yourself. Charge? Attempted Murder. Note: Remember Ray Lewis was charge ( and aquitted) with a murder charge and he was not even involved with the shooting but did know the guy who did it.

3) Pacman gave false statements to police of exactly what happened that night and now obviously we are finding out what really happened. Charge? Giving false statements to authorities and impending a felony investigation. Not serious but the same charge Lewis was found guilty.

4) Pacman is serving probation for other incidents and was out of lives with the courts and Jeff Fisher. Although it will be tough for the Titans to release him until the judicial process is over I can only think that Fisher will not react too kindly to this latest incident. I think Pacman has played his last game with the Titans. Of course there will be another team that picks him up but this is surely to be the last straw for the team, giving the Haynesworth debacle.
Charge? Conduct detrimental to the team. Fine and suspension.

5) Pacman is the latest event in how the NFL is too laxed in how they deal with player's behavior. This past season has given the league a black eye and Goodell biggest challenge is how to approach this arrests and thugs. The NBA has thier share of incidents but nothing close to the NFL. Baseball is pretty non-existent and hockey players simply hurt themselves.

The one trait that David Stern has that Goodell must find in his soul is a sense of authority. NBA players know who runs the league and they will be held accountable for on the field and off the field actions. Repeat offenders like the Bengals and Pacman should pay the consequences of stupidity and as a fan I am tired of reading about them.

I wish there was some type of fan organization that allowed fans to not only voice their opinions but also levee punishment. I say take a poll from members and what actions and punishment should be dished out for people like Pacman. Have a fan court with a jury of peers and league officials as the judge. Allow these players to go thru an appeals process with fans. To often fans pay top dollar to attend games only to see these same players involved in shootings and drunk driving. It beyond pathetic, its sinful. It is time to do something about it and it starts with Goodell.

Who among us has not flown into Las Vegas with a huge entourage, minks, jewels and purple hats and suits, showered strippers with $80,000 on stage and then threatened a bouncer with "I'm gonna kill you" and then been ejected from a place of leisure?
Well?
Yeah, that is what I thought.
The lad was just at the wrong place (the world) at the wrong time (the 2000s). Let justice take it course and then judge him.:D
