Owner: Pacman To Return After Thanksgiving
Posted by nickeatman at 11/19/2008 5:04 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Thursday afternoon that he is hopeful that cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones will return to the team as early as this week, but probably won’t be in uniform until after Thanksgiving.

Jerry Jones said “if all goes well,” and with Pacman, sometimes that’s easier said than done, that his Adam Jones could be available to play for the Dec. 7 game in Pittsburgh. Jerry Jones made the announcement Wednesday in Arlington, Texas at the site of the new Cowboys’ stadium, during a press conference to announce the stadium as the host site of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four in 2014. But like always, those press conferences turn back to football. After continuous conversations with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who suspended Pacman Jones for four games following the Oct. 8 incident in which the cornerback got into a public fight with his former bodyguard, Jerry Jones said he is still unsure whether or not Pacman will be available to return to the team and the Valley Ranch facility this week. Even if he returns this week, Pacman probably wouldn’t be on the field for the Thanksgiving Day game against Seattle. Obviously, there will be more news to come on this situation.

Thats funny... I mentioned that yesterday in another thread in a different context (not even thinking about Pacman)

The Cowboys #6 seed WC go up against the Undefeated Titans in SB(like Giants vs Pats last year) EXCEPT WE beat the Giants in a role reversal of a season.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (TICKER) —Adam Jones apparently is getting a second second chance.

The NFL on Wednesday reinstated the Dallas Cowboys’ troubled cornerback, who just completed a four-game suspension imposed by commissioner Roger Goodell

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the Star-Telegram on Wednesday afternoon that Adam Jones has been cleared to return.

However, the league refused to confirm Jones’ reinstatement.

“No. We have no comment on it,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email to PA SportsTicker.

Jones was suspended on October 14, one week after his latest off-the-field incident - an altercation with his bodyguard at a Dallas-area hotel.

That incident came just seven weeks after he was reinstated by Goodell following a 17-month suspension that caused him to miss the entire 2007 season.

Jones will return to practice Monday and be eligible to play in Dallas’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 7.

Since alcohol was involved in the October incident, Jones’ actions violated terms of his previous reinstatement.

Goodell suspended Jones for a minimum of four games and said he would determine the final length of the ban following the Cowboys’ Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders.

A history of legal problems - including six arrests - has plagued Jones since entering the league as a first-round draft choice in 2005.

The most serious incident took place at a Las Vegas strip club in February 2007 during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend, when a disturbance led to the shooting of a bouncer who became paralyzed from his wounds.

Jones accepted a plea deal, pleading no contest to a single charge of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. He was given a suspended one-year prison sentence and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.

Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 season for multiple violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

He was reinstated by the league on August 26 - four months after the Cowboys acquired him in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.

However, following the fracas with his bodyguard at a downtown hotel in Dallas, Jones earned another suspension from Goodell, who called the cornerback’s behavior “the continuation of a disturbing pattern of behavior and clearly inconsistent with the conditions

Anyone who is not blind will offer nothing for him. He may be the worst CB in the league, beating out Reeves for the honour this year.
