Been listening to the last 30 minutes or so and Pacman seems to be truthful, but I still get the feeling that he still doesn't get it.If you throw a lot of cash up in the air in a shopping mall, the same thing could happen and people will act foolishly and violently. These days,it might happen in church.I just don't get the feeling that he realizes the little details aren't important on his legal issues. He has to stay away from those places,if for no other reason his seemingly terrible luck.

Exactly... Several of them he's admitted to.

His main problem is that he has to get away from this element he loves to hang in. Some of these things, he probably didn't do. But when you get that rep for being a thug, all you have to do is be around when something goes wrong and you're going to be blamed.

So part of that is his fault, of course.

I just wonder if he can overcome two decades -- the vast majority of his life -- of knowing nothing but bad influences. It would be tough, but maybe he can.

He needs to start hanging with Romo and Newman and just go play golf all day in the offseason. :)
I think he could do it here. Like Ware was saying, all the guys hang out constantly. They work out together and spend a considerable amount of time together. I just see guys like TO and Tank turn themselves around and think with what Jerry has in place for these situations, he's got a good chance of turning himself around.

All of his past legal claims are behind him. There are no pending claims. This is a good chance for him to just put it all behind him.

This has turned into a complete disaster for Pacman Jones.

I've lost count of the number of off-field fiascoes they've discussed. I do know exactly how many Pacman took blame for: zero.

I especially liked his explanation for why he wasn't smoking weed when an officer pulled him over and caught a contact buzz when Pacman rolled down the window.

"I was in the program at that point, so there was no way I could have been smoking at that point," Pacman said, referring to the NFL's program for guys who have already flunked a drug test. "Period, point blank."

So Pacman couldn't have been smoking weed because he was a proven drug user. Huh?

He did fess up to making it rain in the Las Vegas strip club the night a bouncer got paralyzed by a bullet. But, hey, he wasn't the only one throwing piles of cash in the air!!

I don't think the "maybe" was necessary, theebs. :p:

lol Good point.

In fact I am so biased I think this will be my last post on the guy.

I have to just get used to the fact of the matter that he will be a cowboy before long.

"I'm not sitting here telling you I don't own up to my mistakes. I take full responsibility for what I've done. I accept the punishment for the bad decisions. At the end of the day I'm just praying to God that I can get a 2nd chance. I've done everything the courts have asked. Hopefully I can do what I love most now, play football."

One other thing-As long as he has this lawyer feeding him these ideas about him being innocent of everything, that will only stunt any attempt he may make to really turn his life around. But,I'm sure Pacman is probably his best customer.BTW,Michael Irvin is handling this interview very well.

Is there any way to get the bad part of your upbringing ou tof you?
I've worked on it and its getting out of me. My counseling is doing a tremendous job right now. Without that, I'd probably be in the crazy house. It's different when you don't have anyone to go to. For the most part I've been getting better and working on it. Like I said, I'm on the edge of that cliff.

That's absolutely not true. He's admitted to getting in a couple of fights. He's admitted to taking a swing at a police officer.

Are you even listening, Tim?

Hes so going to fall off that cliff.

This is like watching an episode of intervention knowing good and well this guy has no chance of making it.

So does this interview make you come away believing he is going to stay out of trouble?

How so Mr. McMahon? Will he NOT be reinstated? Will he NOT be signed by an NFL team?

In the end, this "interview" won't help or hurt him when it comes to his main goal, and that's getting back into the NFL. He's not changing those who have an opinion on the guy. In the end, the only thing that matters in the commish and the NFL team that wants to sign him, not some revelation we hear today.

There's no question that those were the talking points his people told him to repeat over and over. But everything else he says is the exact opposite of that.

I have no idea if he'll be able to or not.

He does sound like he wants to change, or maybe that he's being forced to change, because it sounded like having football taken away from him really hurt him.

I just don't know if he'll be able to change at this point. He'll have to really want it to do so.

Of course everything positive he says is just a canned response.

Why did you even listen in the first place?

I don't know, at first I wasn't too keen on the idea of this guy joining our team, but he definately doesn't seam as bad as the media has made him out to be.

He hasn't said "all the right things", but he has said some of them.

If guys like Irvin, Deon and Newton ( and me for that matter) have turned there life around there's always hope.

Maybe this is one way Roy Williams can contribute on this team... babysitting Pacman. he did a good job with Killer. :laugh2:

Said he dropped his lawsuit against the league (despite his attorneys advising him not to) because he thought he needed to sit out a year to get himself together. His attorneys, however, thought he had a very good chance of winning.

I hope we give him an incentive based contract dependent on his behavior, and we of course provide him counciling via Calvin Hill and others.

IMO, nothing has changed.

We provide PacMan the opportunity to play football again and to change his life. End of the day, it's up to PacMan to take advantage of the situation. He knows this is his last chance.

As long as we cover ourselves and still draft a CB high, and the price is right, I hope we give it a try.
