Pacman Trade Talks Beginning

I just think since the news has come out yesterday morning that Jerry will strike while the iron is still hot. He won't give the other 30 teams the weekend to outbid him. If he wants to roll the dice, and it looks like he does, he's not going to wait.

No source, just playing the Couch GM game.

Aren't we all?

I agree that Jerry would be wise to strike now.

Get the deal done for a conditional 5th rounder based on his getting reinstated.

Keep his rookie contract and clearly let him and the world know:

"You're getting a chance, your last chance, screw it up and you're gone."

No questions asked.

And in no way let this change the idea of getting a cornerback in the first round!

Or, if Newman decides he wants Hall/Clements/Samuel @ age 31 money, we can replace him

Newman is a good to very good, but like Akin Ayodele, hes is position to make plays but doesnt NEARLY enough....

Give me jenkins, Cason, Porter, Flowers or King and they could bejust as productive at a small fraction of what Newman wants

Too many here over-rate Newman

He's, like so many other quality CB's largely a product of the pressure our front 7 generates
Holy caca.

akin is dead weight we have enough depth at backer. trade him for what we can get maybe we can replace killa on spt with that pick . if pac man shows up and plays like he used to that will be similar to the deion trade in "putting us over the top"

Exactly, it's not really that complicated if we get PacMan great but we will still need another CB.
i still don't get why all the anti-mcfadden people think we would have to draft that cb you speak of in the 1st. who do you want drc? he will be gone in the top 10. how about mclevin? probably gone before we have a chance at 22. so maybe we should draft that dangelo hall clone talib assuming he's still there? anybody see how banged up brandon jacobs got this past year with the starters role. you think barber who runs harder than jacobs is gonna play 16 games next year in that role? :laugh2:

Did you happen to see where the Giants drafted Ahmad Bradshaw?

That Ahmad Bradshaw guy that was drafted in the 7th round? Or how bout that Derrick Ward guy that was drafted in the 7th by the Jets and picked up by the Giants for nothing. But he and a billion other people will continue to clamor for DMac no matter what.

did you happen to look and see the cornerbacks jerry has drafted lately?

and i don't get why all you "mcfadden is the only player in the draft so lets get him" people think he's worth the risk and overall price. look up "opportunity costs" when you think of DMac.

after awhile you just get tired of being pummelled with madden scenarios that don't work when you turn the tv off.

How on earth does Talib compare to Hall?

I also love how DRC is now a top 10 pick, and you're not the only one to do this Ramp so don't get offended, but people get way too worked up over combine workouts.

At this rate, DRC, Chris Johnson, Devin Thomas and Dexter Jackson will be top 10 picks.

Don't change the subject - address it.

You brought it up.

Where was Bradshaw drafted?

Where were the Giants able to find not one, but several quality running backs?

What 'cornerbacks that Jerry has drafted lately'?

Pro Bowler Terrence Newman?

It's interesting. If we take a chance on Jones, then I don't think we take a CB in the first round. Safety might be another story. However, I don't think we take a DB in the 1st round either way (if we deal for Jones). I don't believe any WR is worth a 1st round pick this year. None of them wow me. We have a starting RB and while everybody toys with the idea of taking McFadden, I don't know. I mean, it could happen but I don't know. That means, who else is there that we might covet?

Maybe McFadden isn't who we are moving up for, assuming we are trading up.

i think he is worth the risk more than anybody who will be on the board at 22. i don't get tired of "being pummelled":laugh2: with "madden scenarios" from the biggest whiner on the internet. why bother posting in these threads if all you're gonna do is whine about it? you and hos with your "what did i do to deserve this thread" if it's so terrible why even write anything? do you just like to argue with people on the internet?

ok now that we got him out of the way name some more probowler cb's that jerry has drafted lately? why do you think he's going after pacman? i'm not changing the subject i'm pointing out jerry has had more success drafting rb's than db's.

Name any cornerbacks he has drafted recently?

There simply hasn't been any significant attention paid to the cornerback positon in recent drafts.

Where has he had more success?

With whom?

Marion Barber, the Pro Bowler who he drafted in the 4th round?

I don't see where you can back up that RB/CB claim.

It's great that you like McFadden, but don't let it blind you to everything else in the world. This McFadden obsession is like a disease around here.

Can you name me the last running that it took two #1 draft choices to get?

hey man if you wanna become an offense like the pats forget mcfadden. only thing is Romo is no Brady,T.O. is no Moss, and crayton/glenn is no Welker. nobody respects our running game. i'd rather get a rb who runs past defenders that barber who runs into them. that rb i'd like to get is mcfadden cause i think he will be special and more special than any cb in this years draft. but anyways i'm done talking about this stuff. whatever let's sign pacman and draft 2 corners in the 1st round:rolleyes: i don't care to talk about this subject anymore.

You mean the #1 ranked offense?

Those Patriots?

Romo is no Brady? OK. Who is?

TO is no Moss? OK. But he still managed to 'squeak in' to the Pro Bowl, so he's not that bad....

Crayton/Glenn is no Welker - no arguments there.

But who's Jason Witten then?

And who's Marion Barber?

Julius Jones could 'run past' defenders too - he just never got past them.

If only this was the last we had to hear about Darren McFadden......
