pacman will decide..

whether we get mcfadden...imo
the more i think about it, the more i think that, if we get pacman we will move up for mcfadden. 3 main needs are CB, RB, and WR. we can get top 10 pic talent in CB and RB, and get a WR in the second, as all the WR in this draft are roughly 2nd round talent. there will be some drafted in the first, but none that deserve to be.

i'm posting this to get yalls thoughts on it, am i crazy?

If we sign pacman there will be no money for Mcfadden in the top ten.

Certifiable.

Pacman has nothing whatsoever to do with the price it would cost to acquire McFadden. No matter how twisted the logic.

Pacman will have to play for peanuts because of his situation. His current contract actually isn't bad since its still his rookie contract and the Titans already paid his bonus.

Jerry has told all of you all offseason he wants a wow player on offense.

You have to ask yourselves what are his options of going about it.

In my opinion if he thinks it brings a Superbowl to Dallas he will over spend to do it.

i thought the same thing with jerry bringing in pacman it would mean we go after darren. it definetly makes sense but idk ive thought out so many scenarios of why we could or could not go after mcfadden i can't set my mind on one yet.

He said the same thing last offseason and we ended up with a linebacker and couple tackles with our highest picks.

He said last offseason he wants to add a "wow player" to the offense and went out of his way in doing it?

I dont think so.

No, he was going to put in the card for Spencer until Cleveland called with a ridiculous trade offer. You couldn't possibly turn down that offer.

I wonder who we would have drafted had things gone as planned?

I would like to have McFadden, but I would rather have Talib/F. Jones/Barber over Barber/McFadden. And I actually think the WOW player will be a receiver, either Boldin or RW (outside chance of CJ).

I'm glad you brought that up Rampage. You don't make a trade with Cleveland to get a #22 pick. They did it to get a top 5 pick.

So as far as money is concerned, I believe Jerry will make work.
There's always a way when you know what your doing.

Jerry would be and idiot to think that CB is fixed if the team acquired Pacman.

At any moment, the guy could be suspended.

For that reason, I think getting Pacman says nothing about getting DMC because Jerry needs to draft a CB 1st round as though he had not picked up Pacman.

honestly, if we got Pacman, that would not change my draft strategy much, if at all. I would still draft a CB first then go after RB and WR.

too many question marks with Pacman, one being if he will be released from his suspension for the 2008 season, etc... that is before you get into the whole 'can he stay clean' argument.

i don't think pacman has anything to do with mcfadden. 2 seperate issues. even if we do get pacman it's a gamble in itself. we still go CB in the 1st unless they just all go before we can get there, then we trade down for the right spot for one and collect lower round picks.

people are putting whatever pieces they want to together right now to paint whatever picture they want and i just don't see it that way.

there's too many 'solid' rumors of us trading a 1st round pick for bolden or williams from detroit. if we do that then how do we trade up for mcfadden?

we don't.

but keep the dreams alive.

people pick pretty convenient times to listen to jones so literally.

bolden or williams for one of our 1st round pics - satisfy the WOW?

yes. unless you've got mcfadden-wood. then no. then we just get silly in the pricetag.

Yes it would and yes this is a convenient time to think McFadden could still be in the picture because 1) we havent had the draft & 2) we haven't traded for Bolden or McFadden.

I don't have McFadden wood either. I do know that he is an unbelievable player and our owner/GM possibly has more "McFadden Wood" than anyone on this board.

Like I've said I would probably still play it safe and stay @ 22.

But our owner/GM is tell you he wants to add a WOW player on offense.

All options are debatable right now.

I don't think an acquisition of Pacman changes anything, not during the prelude or the after-thought. Our intention is to go for McFadden, period. No one player we pick up, no rumor-mill running wild, no combination of people we could draft at 22 & 28, and no magically fixing stud wr that would cost us a first to get, is going to change that. No outlandish cost. No bundle of insatiable picks. No glaring needs at another position or two. No nothing is going to stop Jerry from trying to move heaven 'n earth to acquire Dmac. He's a Cowboy come the end of April. He's the new #21. If Jerry can get it done.

Aside from the "wow" comment, Jerry straight out said he doesn't wish to follow old traits of keeping the pick or trading down to acquire multiple picks. He thinks maybe that's been the problem instead of actually going for that "difference maker". Jerry's got a hunger in his gut and it's for a Super Bowl. He's sick, just like the rest of us, of would-bes, could-bes, and should've beens, that it's time to go for the gold and stop pissing around with number one picks. Dmac is that "gold". The rest of the players some of yall want to pick....see above- a bunch of bes and eventual beens unless we were to get really lucky.

As for the WR pipe-dream we all have.. I believe it can still be done without either of this year's #1s. Williams, Johnson or Boldin, and I'm perfectly fine with next year's #1 and a pick or 2 more, if that's what it takes. For one of those 3 on this already deep team, sacraficing this year and next years draft with McFadden included for us...hell yeah.
