• Because of his trying background, Jones possesses a deep desire to give back to the community and affect people the way his grandmother and Sobleskie affected him. In college, he worked with special education groups and desires to open a clinic for special education students in the future. “I feel like I know how to help them,” he says.
• One of the first things that Jones did before the ink even dried on his multi-million dollar contract last fall was commit a monetary donation to the 100 Club of Nashville, which supports families of police, firefighters and emergency workers financially, who lost their lives in the line of duty.
• In 2005, Jones’ Westlake Lake High School in Atlanta totaled the most NFL players from one high school. Jones joined fellow Westlake alumns, Keith Adams, Ian Allen, Keyaron Fox, Sean Jones, and Anthony Mitchell for a total of six current Westlake NFL players.
• During the 2005 season, Pearl Cohn High School in Nashville was struck by tragedy when a member of the Pearl Cohn football team was killed in a car accident and several other players were injured. Jones visited the school and provided inspiration to the somber football team. After the tragedy Jones still reached out to the student-athletes making weekly visits to the high school, while encouraging to students stay on the right path so they can be successful in life.
