Pam Oliver has no room to complain when she shows up on TV looking like she did on NFC Champ weekend. That was haggard. We have hi-def TV's, Pam.

She's hot. Now there are plenty of guys like Tony Siragusa who likely ain't a lotta girls crush type. Nothing personal Tony love your football dude. Just sayin'.......

Both aren't needed on the sideline but Pam is definately a veteran at this thing.

If Pam Oliver is on her way out, I hope that she will impart some of the wisdom she has accumulated over two decades to Erin Andrews. The Richard Sherman interview was pathetic. How does anyone, who works as closely with athletes as these reporters do, not sense their temperment, especially after a crucial game? And after witnessing the physical play between Sherman and Michael Crabtree as the game ended?

I can still remember seeing the camera cut to Andrews and Sherman and immediately said uh oh to myself. That guy went off. And she looked as if he was going to punch her. Poor soul. Lesson learned I guess. Or at least I hope so for her sake down her professional road.

She handled it right. She asked, paraphrasing, "what the heck are you talking about fool, who is taking about you"?

Lol

Were you under the impression that she is a blind mute who has no say in how she is styled?

I expect that in an outdoor environment, she's got a stylist right there right before she goes on camera.

You'd never suggest that Joe Buck or any other male reporter would need to do anything other than trust the stylist

She's likely reviewing notes and her questions during that time - you know, like a real, grown up reporter would be.

I respectfully disagree. She should have evaluated Sherman and approached another one of his teammates until he he had cooled off more. Sometimes, it is best not to get in someone's face.

Actually she did the right thing, because Sherman was the money guy. He's the guy you want after a game like that, especially at that moment. The problem is she lost control of the interview from jump and he took over. She didn't handle it well, at all.

Pam Oliver essentially said the same thing in the article that I posted, but she did say she didn't want to second guess Andrews.

We can disagree.

You wanted her predict that he was say something other than, "woohoo, I just made the play that sent us to the Super Bowl"?

Truth is... No one saw that coming. Anyone who says they did is.... Well... Funny.

Olver stated:
“I was listening in my ear and I’m thinking, ‘Oh boy, he’s controlling the interview,” she said. “I always felt that when you get a player immediately after a game, you factor in that they are really emotional. I’m not saying she did anything wrong, but in a situation like that you (should) quickly turn the interview into let’s get back to your team winning the game.”

Suddenly, Oliver stopped.

“I don’t know, I just feel a little uncomfortable going back and second-guessing (Andrews’ interview),” Oliver said. “But I just feel you should have another question in your back pocket (to move the interview along).”
I agree that Sherman should have been interviewed. I disagree that it should have taken place that soon after the game had ended. There are emotions you can mold into a workable interview. I could be wrong, but I doubt Sherman would have gotten his emotions in check enough to focus solely on what he and his team had just accomplished.

There seemed to be very bad blood between him and Crabtree. My guess he would have immediately returned to his mini 'I owned Crabtree' rant as soon as Andrews tried to pull his attention away from his adversary. That was my take on it at least.

Reporters do it all the time, and in every sport, because while they didn't want the athlete to take over the interview, they certainly wanted all the other stuff he brought. Networks ALWAYS want to capture the organic reactions of athletes after a big sports moment. And sometimes they get caught slipping. Michael Irvin ***-bomb, Shaq's "BS" I believe was done during a postgame interview. I believe Steve Francis did it as well. This is the risk they take, but it was worth every penny. I'm sure Fox isn't complaining, at all. They got the money interview AND the big game? Talk about sports media executive heaven.

Yep, that was tv gold. I hope, if similar circumstances arise in the future for Mrs. Andrews, she doesn't exhibit quite the antelope cornered by a leopard look on her face.

Okay, I'm done. :)

I thought Andrews egged him on knowing how dumb he sounded to "non football" observers..."who are you mad at?" He looked at her like was about to go all Dolamite on her, like "don't patronize me"

Okay. I said I was done. I lied. :)

I disagree that she intentionally antagonised Sherman for her and the audience's benefit. She allowed herself to be caught offguard and verbally reacted as... well... practically anyone else would in that type of bombastic situation.
