It is not about one on one match ups if he can get with a team who can bring the heat from different directions and a staff that can push him he very well could turn things around. In Carolina he was it and it is much easier to handle just 1 good pass rusher than it is a team that already has some talented pass rushers in place.

I think there are lot of "if's" in that scenario.

The Commanders probably believed a lot of those things when they signed Hanyesworth to that bloated contract.

I'm of the opinion that giving guys with questionable motors big money does not make them more motivated but quite the opposite.

How many sacks did he have in our game against the Panthers this season?

I don't remember him lighting it up when we played the Panthers (though I very well could be wrong...)
No player lights it up every game. Not even Ware.

Hanyesworth is 6-6 350 he relies on his size and even in his best year he did not have double digit sacks he is a big body that requires teams to put 2 men on him and yes the skins vastly over paid for the man in my opinion. Peppers actually has talent and skills and even though he may not be living up to his potential his numbers are still pretty darn good. I just think it the right situation with a defensive system and other legit pass rusher around him he could be a real force in Carolina he really was the only legit pass rusher

I can see your point and I also recognize Peppers' talents.

My thinking is that any team who signs him will never truly get the "bang for the buck", much like the Panthers didn't get $16 million in return from him last season.

yea i dont see much comparison between Pep and Haynesworthless. I understand the point being made that he wont try after he gets his money but that already happened, last year when he made over a million dollars a game and didnt really want to be there. He wants to be in a 3-4 and play standing up, and that would be of benefit to him in my opinion.

I would not pay the asking price but some one will we both know that. What I would be concerned with is how a move to a good defensive system with other key players around him could spark Peppers career. When I look at Philly and NY Giants I see some good pass rushers on those teams that with the addition of a player like Peppers could become a lot better in terms of bring the heat. As I said I would just as soon he end up some where else

If he is true to his word and this is really not about money you can narrow it down to a 3-4 team and then put warm weather teams at the top of the list and go down.

No, this is not a hint that the Cowboys are in the running. He has to be one of my favorite non Cowboys players but I dont think he would fit here.

Regarding the pic in your sig. Horrible picture of a player holding the ball in the worst way to be stripped ever. He might as well Vaseline his hands.

I thought Peppers was slated to be a free agent, so how can he be released?

He returned it to the house.

I know it's rare to see that. We're Cowboy fans after all.

I assume he is being released as a favor from Panthers management so that he could potentially try and sign with one of the top 8 teams more easily if he so desired.

What does anyone think - convert to a hybrid defensive scheme with Ware sort of playing an "elephant man" type role with Igor, Peppers and Ratliff as the 3 downlineman. Then Spencer, Bradie and Brooking as the LBs.

Just kidding...

He'll go to a 4-3 team and be a terror at LDE.
