Better GM than Coach? I guess it was the Coach who signed Vanderjack, Boiman, Fabini, Rivera, Kosier, "Dat Dude" and VINNY!!!

This is the same coach who couldnt find playing time for Peerless Price because he wanted to play Terrance Copper and not keep either around the next season... did the same with Pettiti!

this is the same GM that cut his starting QB because he did an ESPN interview 1 week into TC.

this is the same GM that went into a season without a backup RB!!!

the same GM that traded away draft picks for Fujita and Skyler Green...

the same GM that drafted JACOB ROGERS, PETERMAN and AL Johnson with day 1 picks!

the same GM that didnt draft TONY ROMO!

I gave BP props for making the playoffs but its the NFC... a 7-9 team may make the playoffs!

Noone said BP job was to wina SB... his job was to change the outlook on the Cowboys coaching job!!!

He did that!!!

Well said. Making the playoffs in the NFC this year is no badge of honor.

Regardless of what records get in, it's still a positive to make the playoffs.

Do you guys forget the misery of the last decade that easily?

There are 10 NFC teams that won't be getting in, and most of their fans would gladly trade places just to have a shot at being the underdog in the first round.

Don't you remember last year where we were so close and got snubbed? Or all those 6-10 seasons?

Look, I'm not happy with what's been happening....but remembering all those lean years, it's nice to be in the playoffs. This isn't the mid-90s where it would have been an insult to be the 5th seed....simply making the playoffs is progress for this piss poor franchise over the past decade.

I certainly expect more....but I'm somewhat content with atleast gettting into "the tournament."

Parcells don't have the luster of a championship coach anymore, and he's gambled his entire stint as coach in Dallas.

Zimmer also has to go, he's not even worthy of being a poor man's bill belechik. Our defense is in shambles and we lack depth in our secondary.

Munchis...Out!!!

Well, I'm starting to feel warm and fuzzy.

I've had a lot of lonely moments while criticizing Parcells for the past three years.:

And as I always say, I truly admired the guy when he was in NY...both with the Giants and Jets.

While we had coaches like Switzer, and Gailey and Campo I was always pining for Parcells.

But this isn't the same guy.

I gave up on him three years ago.

i've been there with you. it's a shame to be so far ahead of our time, huh juke?

On one level, it is unfair to criticize Parcells considering that he brought us back to respectability after inheriting no talent and a Dave Campo led team. He will always deserve respect for turning the team around even if he didn't truly make us a contender. When you look at teams like the Arizona Cardinals, you have to understand, we were exactly where they were before Parcells arrived. We could have easily hired some up and comer college coach like the Dolphins or a guy like Denny Green and wound up in the same predicament as them. What Parcells has accomplished here has been amazing even if it is short of "Parcells standards". I mean Parcells won with Quincy Carter as the starting QB for crying out loud. I truly in my heart don't believe any other coach could have turned around Campo's losers into a respectable team.

That being said, I'm standing by the Bellichek theory. Thus far it's true. Everyone said that Bellichek couldn't win without his assistants and his team is still in contention. People said Bellichek couldn't defend without Romeo Crennel as his assistant yet Crennel is about to be fired from the Browns while Bellichek's defense is still respectable.

Parcells has ridden Bellichek's coat tails. No Cowboy fan wants to hear that but it's the truth. Parcells has not been the same without his genius coordinator. Bellichek always gave Parcells that edge he needed. His schemes could shut teams down while Parcells' conservative offense would not turn the ball over and score just enough points to win. The problem is we have a conservative offense without the shut down defense and thus Parcells philosophy doesn't work.

And I remember people were citing the Bellichek theory long before Parcells came to Dallas, it's disheartening to learn those early theorists were correct.

then what about parcells WITH sean payton?

I'm not convinced Payton is a genius. I think New Orleans is playing well but I want to see them in the playoffs. I think they are a hot team right now but very inexperienced. Remember, the NFC is just that bad. Also, one could argue that Parcells held back Payton's offense due to his conservative nature so that we never really saw Payton be Payton if you know what I mean.
