But, we have a really capable defense. What more do you want?

Bill will leave here as a .500 coach......next year will be harder to achieve 9 wins.

We have had high draft picks and a boatload of money.....I expected a better team....9 wins is not a indicator on how bad this team is and how much work still needs to be done.

I understand this perspective, to a degree....but if the best we can say about Parcells is that he's better than Campo...well....

He's 25-24 since his arrival..mediocre.

Agreed, but look at what he had to work with initially.

Quincy Carter at QB. Troy Hambrick at RB. And since then he's had skill position after skill position fall away (Woodson, for example). I say another year with Parcells, some experience for our younger players, and another strong draft...and we'll be contending again.

THis team is junk. Even on defense, we give up big plays in the secondary. We can't stop the runs to the outside.

Petitti/Tucker/Al Johnson/Rivera/LA too slow/Ferguson/Fujita/Shanle/Davis/Our kicker.

These people are not Superbowl talent and they must go. I don't give a damn if you like them or not, they can't stay. ANd Ellis and Glover should become trade bait immediately after the season.

We are the same, year after year after year and we always have an excuse. BTW, Bledsoe is not your starting Superbowl QB when we get there.

For the love of whatever you hold high in your heart.

Do we have to have yet ANOTHER thread started when so many are already on the board basically saying the same things?

Seriously...what makes one think they have to start another thread saying the same thing.

If the eagles didn't have internal fight this yr, we would be last again !

if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas...

im not sure what that means really, but it sounded appropriate

but you cant say what if...what if the giants didnt have 9 home games? What if the other teams in the division had to play philly w/ TO and Mcnabb? What if we had a kicker? What if Flo didnt get hurt? What if Gates played against us week 1? What if Eli only completed 50% of his passses?...wait

oh and what if we had a kicker

You really need to put that(5-11 post) away... we were a couple of more bad play calls away from 5-11 this year.
We were 2 missed field goals from being 11-5.

On defense, we are better.

On offense, we are mediocre. Parcells needs to keep his mitts on the defense and let someone else decide who plays/doesn't play on offense.

With that in mind, I expected great things in Parcell's 3rd year, so it is a disappointment overall.

Yo Yo Mick!

We're also a couple of bad play calls away from 14-2. Our record is our record...and it's a WINNING record. It's not as good as I'd hoped or even expected, but it is better than three straight 5-11 seasons with guys like QC at QB and Hambrick at RB.

And I see nothing wrong at all with pointing out what our record was prior to Parcells getting here. Some of you guys act like Hall of Fame coaches are just hanging around the corner store waiting to be asked to coach the Cowboys.

Last year was the year that killed us....that roster was so bad, it was almost hard to believe...and it wasn't because of cap problems....it was because of the philosophy of the head coach...

He envisioned a team of average talent veterans playing mistake free football and ruling the world...For me, Dedric Ward is the poster boy for all that is wrong with Parcells....his views of offensive football were established at the time of the Flintstones....

I say, it'll never happen with Parcells....and I happen to be a past fan of his...I just think he devalues the importance of playmaking talent on the offensive side of the ball...

And as an aside, the job he has done with the O Line...both with the players selected and the coaches hired, has been nothing short of awful.

Teams are not perfect. Every team, no matter how good they are and how far they advance in the playoffs, has holes. It is impossible to be set at every position. Look at the Colts this year... they are easily the top team in the league. Their corners are not good at all. The only reason they look good is because of their d-line. Their middle linebacker is bracket... he's not that good. My point is, being good at certain spots covers up those weaknesses in other areas. Every team has needs, but they just can't all be filled.

...fault is that? I'm not here to pile on BP, but someone has to stand up for the decision making that has led us to this point.

The earlier BP admits to his errors the faster we can get past them and come up with a reasonable game plan to overcome the problems.

For the board, these problems are not insurmountable. It's really only about four players in my opinion, but to identify and make the repair a reality is what I am looking for this offseason.

One thing is certain, I'm much more of a pessimist after three years of Parcells tenure, but hopefully optimistic given the three year reign of the poodle.

I hate to say it guys, but there might be something to the apple being better than the tree argument when talking about Belechick and Parcells.

I'm sorry Dave but the logic escapes me...If the best testimonial we can give with regard to Parcells is that he's better than Campo...well...that's sad.

Fact of the matter is, Parcells is about the same as Gailey.

"You are what your record says you are"...mediocre.

And "no matter what you've done in the past, sooner or later you have to prove you can still get the job done"

We're still waiting.

From 7-3 to 9-7...football teams distinguish themselves in November and December..'nuff said.
