Parsons = D'Ware

I have been skipping past this thread most of the week because I just don't think they are even close in talent. D Ware was so good but he doesn't hold a candle to Parsons abilities. That's truly how good #11 is. I can't believe I even typed that sentence, but it's 100% true.

Thanks for stopping by the thread and adding your 2 cents.
It's nice to get fellow Cowboy fans opinions..

I would like you to explain what Parson's abilities are that makes Dware nowhere near him? Ware is recorded as having one of the quickest steps off the line ever recorded on Sports Science

Ware was a physical freak of nature himself. So this whole "doesn't hold a candle" thing needs some actual credible arguments put behind it.

Does anyone else see a similarity to their games ?
Both are freakish athletes.
Both have an incredible ability to get to the QB.
Both are relentless.
Even some of there pass rush moves look the same.
What say you ?
Both are speed guys but ware wasn’t in the ballpark of Micah fast

It took Ware 35 games to get to 20 sacks. Parsons only needs 1 more sack to get to 20...hes played 21 games.

I am not trying to be a smart *** or anything because when I say I loved Ware...I legit loved Demarcus Ware but I'm just going purely off my eyes and what I see on the field. Micah Parsons is just better. He effects the game more, I feel like Parsons has the motor, desire and just pure talent that most players that have played in the NFL don't have.

If 23 year old Micah Parsons was on the table for 23 year old Demarcus Ware then 1st round picks better be coming along side Ware. It's that much of a difference in my opinion. This coming from a HUGE Ware fan.

Ware once had a 20 sack season .. that's a helluva impact.

But he wasn't move around and schemed designed near as much as Parsons is being under Dan Quinn.

I don't recall the Cowboys having " Hybrid " schemes under Marinelli, Parcells/Zimmer and Wade Phillips
I believe Ware is one of only two player to have two seasons of 19 or more sacks
JJ watt is the other

if you're going off purely 40 time workouts.. you're right, as Ware cannot hang with Parsons' 4.39 clock time.

but if you're talking pure play on the field and flat out pure first step off quickness snap of the ball, ..they don't come any better than DWare, imo.

00s are different than the game in 2021. Eras matter. LT didn't have more than 10 sacks until the 1990 season. We going to talk about Micah being better? JJ Watt had 5 sacks his rookie season. Are we going to sit here and suggest Parsons is better than an all-time great or far above a 2x DPOY and future HOF? It's just a ridiculous metric to say a player is better simply because he had a more productive rookie season.

Just a bad argument. Sorry.

Ware had an amazing first 3 steps but Micah is just a great
Ware was much bigger though so you wouldn’t expect him to be as fast
Ware is very under rated by fans here
He was a all time great player
Micah has the potential to be even better but we won’t know for years
Can’t compare a career to a season or two
So many things can change or happen over a career

Demarcus Ware has literally only been out of the league a little over 5 years what are you talking about?

Your argument is worse then mine. I give stats you tell me stats don't matter. There is nothing to argue. I watched every game Demarcus Ware played in and I've watched every Parsons game so far. Parsons is a better player at 23 then Ware ever was in his entire career.

He's been out of league for 5 years when his career spanned 10 and his peak ended in 2012. He came into the league in 2005 - his peak years ranged from 2006 to 2012. Are you suggesting that the game was the same in 2005 as it is now? It's for sure NOT the same. My point even then still stands with other examples: If Parson's rookie season sack total is all we go by, he's better than the BEST pass rusher in league history, the best of the 2010s. I guess he's also better than the recent DPOY TJ Watt who had 22.5 sacks last year because he only had 7 sacks in 2017.

And I didn't say "stats don't matter" - I said the stat you used lacks context.

Kelvin Joseph is much more talented than Diggs. Who you taking?

One is a lock for the hall of fame. The other had a great first year.

So, not equal. Too early.

Oh. He might be. I'll take Diggs for now until Kelvin shows something. Like both of their potential though.
Ware has shown a ton more than Micah at this point. Micah may be more talented, but Ware is still the better player. Might change, and I hope it does.
