At the very least involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Again, Dallas' local media is lazy and spineless on this issue. At very best, they're ignorant.
That’s like blaming dumb for the other dumb killing dumbself and a staffer who was dumb for being in the car with dumb while dumb was racing dumb. Just dumb all around.

In this case dumb couldn’t be fixed.

He was obviously the most talented player in the draft. Sucks Philly got him.

So tired of this excuse. They literally play the same position yet one looks like a high schooler as opposed to a pro. McClay is Howie’s b***h.
What are you talking about? What excuse? Its FACTS that Carter was one of the best players in this draft. If you didn't know that you're slow.

That was against a backup center, but Carter is extremely gifted. The only one capable of fully stopping him is Jalen Carter. He's that talented.
Can't believe he fell to PHI of all teams.

At worse, he can be a Fletcher Cox type guy, but I have a feeling he'll fall somewhere between Cox and Aaron Donald as far as ability/talent goes.

He will be a handful for years to come.

Those are misdemeanors. So, no, the deaths apparently are not homicides. Why would Dallas local media care about the incident, anyway?

I think the more success Carter has, the more of a problem he will be for the Eagles. He is going to be really good on the field and next to Jordan Davis they might be the best DT tandem we have ever seen, but I still believe Carter is going to be a locker room problem in the future. It would not shock me is he turns out to be another Albert Haynesworth. But so far he looks like a monster.

btw, this one play he made may be because of a bad Center for the Vikings, but it shows really impressive lateral quickness for a big guy. I think offensive lines will learn to block him and use his quickness against him but he will still be a really good player. Right now he is way ahead of Mazi.

Give the Eagles credit, they were in the Super Bowl and still managed to get a player like Carter by making smart trades.
Spot on. Though I thought this thread would would of degenerated into an anti-Mazi post. As you say the (top3 draft ranked) DT has the distinct edge over the Round 1/2 predicted talent, but his potential character flaw creates a potential high floor.

There are gonna people who dismiss that play, but that dude gonna be a problem.

He will instantly step into Fletcher Cox role next year when he retires.
Exactly right......we moan all we want but the kid is a stud. As mentioned before, our best hope is he self-destruct, which is unlikely but you never know.

No question that the character issues something to keep an eye on but on the other side of the coin, he could also finally start maturing, especially after the last legal troubles. I'm pretty sure he's had all sorts of family members and friends in his ear since about growing up or he could see his career thrown away.

Oh definitely. He's got that fork in the road moment (I worked in civil litigation, prosecuting, and met a number of youth/youngsters and told them the 'fork in the road' analogy), where you now have the choice of which route to take in your life ( Donald (esque) or he can choose the Bossman route, where he's battling for a 53 spot).

I do t think there could have been a better franchise to go to. In all seriousness, the franchise has a sound culture with people to help along the way, plus he doesn't have to be "the guy".

I love all the shade and dismissiveness from our fans on Carter. If Mazi made a similar play you’d have three different threads saying “Is Mazi the DROY?!?!”
So true!! The fact that it is the eagles makes it even more apparent. Thats what I hate about this fan base sometimes, can't give credit where credit is due. Makes us all look like b**ches

The fan base here is no different than anywhere else.

First quarter of the first game and a lot of fans already know exactly what the team is going to do this year or they just eat crow and keep their mouths shut on how far off base they were.

I can't watch a lot of cowboy games in NC, but when I read the gameday thread here, we're either firing everyone or we're going to win the superbowl. Go figure LOL

I agree that all fan bases do this, but the optics just look bad. I can't find it, but one poster said when jalen carter was drafted that he wouldn't even see the field cause off the off filed stuff and gave this whole write up( and was serious) that just made him look foolish. It's like you think the eagles orginaztion didn't do their homework over some fanboy of the Cowboys?? I know, I come on here to read and people can say want they want as they are entitled to, but man, the more crap posters we have on this just gives the vibes that we are an unintelligent fan base.

He would get credit. It was a missed block and a poor job by the Oline. He shot the gap and made the tackle basically untouched against the backup center. Nothing wrong with fans wanting to see more than that. That would also apply to Smith. This play posted by parsons certainly isn’t a great example.

I dont think you can generalize about a fanbase (especially the largest fanbase), just because a couple of fans have extreme views. Nobody's criticizing the Eagles for their draft 'homework' and the vast majority of posts on here, about Carter, acknowledge what a talent, but the jury's out on whether his 'personality' will be a hindrance to him reaching his ceiling.

Yep, me thinks this @sarge1116 doth protest too much. That one play, in isolation doesnt necessarily highlight Carter's abilities, the fact he gets defensive does kind of bring up a Red (or should that be Green) Flag.

That makes more sense. Doesn’t seem like a topic you’d want to cry about as a Cowboys fan!
