10th isn’t really that egregious. we only think so because of the landing spot. we got micah at 12. just is what it is
No one really knew Micah the pass rusher, though.
Carter was a consensus 1st or 2nd best prospect in the draft, and the best player on a back to back national championship team.
For point of reference, a comparable prospect, Quinnen Williams, went 3rd overall just a few years ago.
I can understand QBs taken above him, but look at the guys that were taken in front and you realize it was a perfect storm.
For instance, the raiders could NOT take the risk considering the Ruggs situation, but definitely would have taken Carter otherwise. And I’d say the same for Seattle. Witherspoon was a great somewhat sleeper prospect— not the top 5 target like Carter.
