Well honestly, he never did get a fair shake. When Steve S was there, their OL was horrible and about beat the kid to death,, and since Gibbs as been there, he had no confidence that the coach would let him make a mistake, thats a lot of pressure, to play perfect or you lose your job. This kid has the tools and when he is ever given the chance to be the man.. i think he will do ok,, not a pro bowler or anything but def not a scrub either.

I agree. Just tired of hearing the raging debate about him.

The dudes got happy feet in the pocket and tries to be the gunslinger. IMO, only Brett Favre can get away with that.

Ramsey just threw too many interceptions. Brunell wasn't always the prettiest last year, but at least he didn't throw as many picks as Ramsey would have.

What I would like to know is how in the heck is Snyder going to sign this new 6th rnd pick. There is no way they will get this kid signed in time for TC. Expect a hold out Skins fans. I expect a circus in DC over this new pick.

Patrick Ramsey was one of the most overrated players, in the minds of many fans, (mostly Skins' fans), in recent memory.

I know, I know, he's tough, etc. etc. etc. etc.

This trade verifies what the rest of the league thinks about him.

Believe me, as a Skins fan, I have (and majority of smart Skins fans) always knew that Ramsey has sucked since day 1. Never liked him. Good riddance.

Congratulations for shedding your Quincy Carter ;)

At least Quincy got you guys to the playoffs one year. All Ramsey ever gave us was a bunch of headaches.

Million dollar arm, ten cent head, thank God he's gone. No more whiney Skins fans saying how he didn't get a fair shake.
I'd take Ramsey over you in a battle of wits.

I met the guy and he seems to have a solid head on his shoulders.

Maybe... just maybe... your team's frantic shuffling of coaches and coaching staffs during his formative years was detrimental to his development. Just throwin' that out there.

And I'm sure Gibbs repeatedly lying to him and stabbing him in the back didn't do anything to hurt his development.

But go on thinking it's all about his "10 cent head."

Which only made the raging debates about a mediocre QB all the more unbearable.

A 6th round pick is nothing special, but that special sense of freedom about not having to argue about Ramsey anymore will be priceless.

Hey, and a lot of people who met OJ simpson was a nice guy, too.

I'm not saying he's a bumbling idiot, he seems like a nice guy, speaks well, whatever.

But the guys decision making sucks. Sorry.

You may be right about the shuffling coaches, but we'll never know. I actually happen to agree with you that it probably was detrimental. But so what, if he can't overcome a bit of adversity, I don't want him leading my team, trying to run the 2 minute drill while he's on the road somewhere. Dig?

Gibbs never lied, Ramsey ran with the first team all last preseason. Brunell would play with the 2nd stringers and make all the throws that Ramsey wasn't making.

Yet, Ramsey started opening day, threw a pick, got his bell rung and Brunell took over. The result? A 10-6 season and the playoffs.

So much for the great Patrick Ramsey. It also tells you that they're high on Campbell, who some here has said is years away from starting.

Some people on this board thought he didn't get a fair shake and I'm not one of them.

We're one Brunell injury away from totally screwing the pooch next year.

A lot of Skins fans are high on Campbell despite never having seen him play. Why this is, I'm not sure. I'm suspending judgement till I see him in the pre season this year.

Todd Collins, not so sure about either. Oh well, we always find a way to keep things interesting in DC. . .

Exactly and he would have gotten us to the playoffs last year too.

He's an inaccurate pocket passer with no mobility, what good is he?:laugh2:

Jets | Ramsey acquired for 2006 draft pick
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 12:03:54 -0800
Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Washington Commanders have traded QB Patrick Ramsey to the New York Jets for a 2006 sixth-round pick.

-------------------------------------------------------

This is good news because I was worried they might land Abraham someway
that's about all Ramsey is worth, even to a desperate team.

Ramsay was given the chance and didn't take it. Getting a sixth round pick isn't much considering most late round picks don't make the team.

I don't know why people think the Jets won't take a QB. Ramsay is not a franchise QB. Pennington may never be the same. Sitting on the #4 pick with three potential franchise QB's at your doorstep (and guaranteed to get one of them), they'd be stupid to not attempt to solidify the position with what is considered to be a strong QB class.

Even if you thought Pennington/Ramsey might be able to be a solid starter, Lienhart is too good to pass on...if Young and Cutler are both there you probably trade down and see if Pennington can come back or not before you cut your losses.
